I stayed here with my wife and daughter in a 2 bedroom unit on the 3rd floor for 6 nights in October of 2014.||||The hotel is in a relatively quiet area of Providencia. We came and went at various hours of the day and night and felt safe doing so.The building itself is a narrow, low-rise apartment style building. The building has its own parking on the basement level and behind the building as well.||||It's an easy 3 - 4 minute walk to the Salvador metro station to the west, from which you can access the #1 Red Line and the rest of the city. Our cab ride from the SCL airport to the hotel on a Wednesday around 11AM cost about 14000 pesos (metered fare). We arranged our return trip through the hotel front desk and paid a flat 20000 pesos (negotiated down from 30000) for a ride in a larger, more spacious "ejecutivo" class vehicle.||||Our suite featured two bedrooms, the larger of which contained a king size bed, closet with safe, climate control unit (heater/air conditioner), wall-mounted nightstands, and a wall-mounted flat screen tv. The second, smaller bedroom featured a twin bed and a closet/armoire. The living room had a leather sofa that looked like it might convert to a futon-style bed, but we never attempted to unfold it. The kitchenette had a refrigerator, stove top, microwave, sink, flatware, plates/bowls,and pots and pans. The bathroom contained a tub/shower with a full height tempered glass partition that only extended half of the length of the tub, and a single sink. We had satisfactory WiFi coverage in every room of the suite.||||The weather during our stay featured cool evenings and very warm days. Our room faced north and caught a lot of sunshine, leading to a very warm living room and 2nd bedroom by the late afternoon. With the only climate control unit located in the larger bedroom it took a while to cool down the entire suite in the evening - even with windows open.||||Speaking of the windows - The windows themselves were not very well sound insulated. The 400 block of Roman Diaz is not a super-busy street traffic-wise, but the building (at least on the lower floors) catches a lot of reflected street noise due to the large concrete wall that borders the neighboring building. I don't know if this is as much of a problem on higher floors. Combined with the poor sound insulation of the windows themselves the result was more noise than expected if a particularly loud car or motorcycle passed by. Not so bad that we couldn't sleep, just more than we thought given the room not being directly on the street side of the building.||||Our stay included breakfast each morning. The offering was the same each day: Fresh fruit (oranges, kiwis, apples), breads, cereal, granola, yogurt, juice, slices of ham, slices of cheese, coffee, tea, milk. I'm not sure if all room rates include breakfast, but nobody asked us for our room number or performed any other such validation check as to whether or not we were entitled to breakfast.||||The staff members are friendly and courteous. The front desk is staffed 24 x 7. Every person we interacted with at the front desk spoke at least a little English, but we mostly conversed using Spanish.||||The hotel provided secured luggage storage during the day of our departure. As previously mentioned the front desk arranged our transportation to the airport for us as well. ||||All in all we enjoyed our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again but would likely ask for a room on a higher floor and perhaps on the south side of...
Read moreThe apartment building is located on a smaller side street so the street does not get much traffic. However you can still hear the noise from vehicles on the neighbouring busier streets. It is about a 10 minute walk to a Main Street where there are metro stations for the subway system. There are many restaurants and mini marts within walking distance. The units have a separate bedroom, bathroom and a common kitchen/living room area. They are compact but comfortable. There is a fridge, burner, microwave and necessary cutlery/ plates, etc. so basic meals can be prepared and eaten. Breakfast is basic but okay with cereal, toast, juice, yogurt, ham and cheese. Staff at the front desk do a good job. Check in and check out worked well. Everyone was respectful and accommodating. We did have some issues: The air conditioner is located in the bedroom so there is quite a temperature difference between the rooms. The air conditioner also made a loud noise when it started up and it always woke us up. The people above us would arrive in their room between 10:30 and 11:00 p.m. We could hear every step they took for the next 1-2 hours. When we arrived in the room we had to call housekeeping as both garbages had not been emptied.. We also did not have any dish soup, dish towels, etc. When we booked the room we asked for a few changes due to allergies. These were not done so it ended up we slept only with a sheet and used the toss cushions for the living...
Read moreWe stayed there in August/17, my family (4 people) and we're very well impressed with this hotel. Good staff, but some of the attendants don't speak English - better if you have some Spanish to communicate. Generally, the key points: good apartments, with 2 rooms and a sofa-bed (good for 2 couples + 1 adult); a small kitchen for fast meals; breakfast is included, simple (don't expect a full breakfast in American way but something more "european" or "latin" way); quiet rooms, good heating system. Only question is hot water, which is available for 30 min. But there are clear advices about. |Localization: 10min walking to the Manuel Montt subway station. There is a Rent a car in this station, good option for short trips such as Valparaiso and Vina deal Mar (we did this). The next station is Pedro de Valdivia, with dozens of currency exchange shops. Neighborhood is very calm and sounds to be safe. Generally, a place were I'll...
