Hostal Klein — Hotel in Puerto Varas

We spent one night at Hostel Klein in Puerto Varas. This Hostel is in a fairly good location, very close to the beach, however, it’s very old and very rundown. Our room felt really damp and had a very strong musty and mouldy smell. We put the portable electric heater on but the bed linens still felt damp when we went to bed. The bathroom wasn’t very clean and is really old. The water was fairly hot but the shower had vinyl flooring for walls and was pretty small. If you wanted breakfast it is an added expense that is not included in the room rate of $40.00 US. The breakfast they were serving didn’t look that good, instant coffee and white toast bread so we decided to go and have a brewed coffee at a little coffee shop across the street from the Hostel. The free wifi didn’t work in our room. The sounds and noise made by the other hostel guests really carries throughout the building and we could hear the water running in upstairs bathroom for hours and the upstairs guests walking across the floor. We wouldn’t recommend staying here and we left because of the mouldy odour and the general uncleanliness of the building. Maybe with a good cleanup and some TLC Hostel Klein could be transformed into an accommodation that travellers would want to use, but in its present condition we would suggest looking elsewhere even if you have to pay a...

As other reviews have said, this is an old hostal. I feel like we may have been one of only a few people staying so the noise thru the building was not an issue for us.|Pluses: great views from upstairs room, very clean, linen and towels provided|Cons: wifi signal didn't make it to our room but super strong in dining area, some confusion over breakfast so didn't get to try it; bit weird in terms of door being locked often during the day.||For this price point and travelling to stretch $ out it would have been great to have access to a communal kitchen.||Yes it's a way out of the heart of puerto varas; but very pleasant walk along the beach and plenty of...

Llame a este lugar para ver si tenían habitaciones y me dijeron que si, por 2 noches, al momento de llegar un tipo amable nos atendió, nos llevó al dormitorio, es viejo, con mal olor, el baño con poca higiene, tenía hongos por varios lugares, bueno en fin, decidí quedarme ahí porque no tenía otro lugar donde pasar la noche ya que llegue al atardecer, luego de dejar las maletas en el dormitorio fui a comprar algunas cosas y al regresar el tipo nos dijo que debíamos cambiarnos de habitacion ya que esa ya estaba reservada, y nos ofreció una más pequeña con 2 camas separadas, bueno no puse problemas y acepté. Al día siguiente salí temprano porque tenía una actividad y al regresar este mismo tipo nos tenia nuestras maletas y cosas personales en la recepción al frente de todas las personas que estaban ahí y nos dijo que debíamos irnos ya que la habitación estaba reservada y que solamente había dicho que pasaría sólo una noche, horrible lo que hicieron, de mala clase, en el registro decía claro 2 noches y sin avisar ni nada sacaron nuestras cosas de la habitación además se perdieron algunas cosas por no decir que se las robaron.
