Hospedaje Independencia — Hotel in Punta Arenas

Eduardo is simply the best. He makes welcomes you in, helps with any questions you might have, gives you information and help facilitate any possible activity or travel arrangement you might need, makes an incredible breakfast (eggs, warm bread with butter and jams, cake, fruit, yoghurt, oatmeal, coffee and tea), and makes you feel at home. He creates a great environment that really encourages a community feeling. Lots of bikers and backpackers from all over the world converge here. There is a tenting area, dorms, or private rooms all with shared bath and kitchen use. We paid 10,000 pesos per person for a private room. We were here three times on our first trip to Patagonia in 2003 and became fast friends with Eduardo; it was so great to see him again and he is just as friendly and helpful as ever. I can't wait to come back again. Excellent location just a few blocks from the center but outside of it enough to stay out of any hubub that might be going on. Had a 4 person private dorm with shared bathroom and access to kitchen. Owner/staff was SUPER friendly, and welcomed us late at night after a long day of travelling. Camping outside looked very nice and safe, fun campfire etc. Had new and used gear available for sale (if you get your tent stakes taken from TSA like me). Despite welcoming us late, owner also sent us off very early at 5 am to make it to our flight.

Only drawback - our rental car window got smashed and broken into to. NOT by any fault of the hospedaje, just recommending to look for parking...

Yo sabia que no estaba loca al haber leido por ahi que habia un hostal con CAMPING en P.Arenas!! y fue lejos el mejor "descubrimiento"! sobretodo para terminar el año y recibir el nuevo.||El hostal no es caro, tiene muy buen servicio, es muy calido, con habitaciones privadas y para compartir, cuenta con una pequeña cocina equipada, salas de estar con TV, computadores y libros. Afuera esta el patio donde se acampa y cuenta con un quincho cerrado para hacer asados. El Wi-Fi llega al patio. Ofrecen un desayuno muy bueno para el que quiera.||Eduardo es un genio! apenas llegas te pregunta donde vas y de donde vienes, saca un mapa y te muestra todas las atracciones de la ciudad y lo que puedes hacer fuera de ella, simplemente te queda claro que el es mejor que el centro de informaciones turisticas por que las ha hecho todas!! Te va a aconsejar para el que anda haciendo dedo como al que tiene $.Y si bien arrienda equipos, no titubea en prestarte. ||Con su mujer y amigos se animan a celebrar con todos y no dudan en conseguir un cordero para hacerlo al palo si la gente se anima (por muy poco $ te arman el asado con todos los chicos del hostal).||Esta ubicado a unas 5 cuadras del terminal de buses, a unas 5 de la playa y 7 de la plaza de armas, hay muchos negocios y restaurantes cerca. ||Si internet dice que esta lleno, anda a tocar la puerta ;)||||Sinceramente si no se quedan aca, no saben de que se pierden!!!||Mandenle saludos de...
