Worst Hostel experience ever, do not stay here!
The owner is horrible. He watches TV in a room next to the dorm until very late at night, very thin walls, he talks very loudly while people are trying to sleep. Total disregard for his guests. It gets much worse: I was verbally attacked and insulted by the owner. He stormed into our room at midnight with his flashlight in my eyes demanding that I get out of bed and go to the bank to get cash to pay immediately. When I arrived and checked-in to the hostel he made absolutely no mention that I still had to make a payment so I figured my card was already charged. (Too many bookings to keep track of, sometimes the card gets charged, sometimes you pay at the location) I insisted that I’m happy to pay in the morning and asked why he didn’t say anything about this for the past 2 days and waited till midnight to wake me up about it. I’m trying to sleep. He proceeded to insult and yell at me in Spanish. He lost track of his bookings and was accusing me of trying to sneak away without paying which is completely false. After I paid he continued to insult me and threatened me that he will kick me out onto the street in the middle of the night. He told me to shut up and pointed his finger in my face many times, another guest had to calm him down. I felt very uncomfortable and barely slept all night. Also he was still being noisy after this incident and continued to insult me from the hallway. Unbelievable. Also I slept right next to a window with a broken frame, it was cold at night and on a busy loud street. And the owner said he worked in construction and insolation. Then...

Booked at booking where it said they have 24h Check in. To double check I contacted them to see that I could check in at 3am since my flight arrived so late.
They responded that the night reception is a bit ”complicado” and asked Me to cancel my booking. Since they had a non-refundable cancellation policy I was unable to cancel without them charging me and I asked them how we were going to resolve that.
They never answered me and I contacted Booking customer service.
My experience with Booking was amazing. They got me another place and refunded me the difference! Fantastic!
Patagonia House then sent me some crack and bull story about having tried to contact me on WhatsApp about this and that because they were on holidays in the Caribbean they were not able to receive me so late. They asked me to pay back the refund to their PayPal account.
Maybe this hostel is nice to stay at but they definitely need to work on their communication skills. (Worth noting that all correspondence was in Spanish so this is not due to a...
