Had the great experience of choripan and banana milk on a recent two week visit to Punta Arenas. It may sound odd, but visitors have two options to ensure a return to Punta Arenas. Either you kiss the big toe of the statue in el centro or according to some, you eat a couple of choripan and get a glass of banana milk. We chose the latter. LOL
We passed by a few times and there were lines out the door. Going in, there is a small bar and you sit where you can find a seat. Quickly place your order and the choice is a medium or large banana milk. The service is quick, but don't expect a lot of chatter from the staff. This place is very popular. Best to go with a local if you do not speak a great deal of Spanish - tip of the day.
Definitely worth going to again whenever you are in Punta Arenas. The choices are simple and worth a try at least once in order to ensure that you get to return to this...
Read moreOne of Punta Arenas biggest hotspots. Roca is a great place to get a quick bite and coffee! The small bite size sandwiches only have two options available, with or without cheese. The food is pretty good and considering how busy it always is, I'd say it's very popular. One of the places you have to try while you're in the city. The service is very quick and they turn those things out in record time. Considering how busy it is throughout the whole day, they are very direct and quick with the orders. I've seen loads of people walking around with the distinct yellow/brown coffee cups. If I was a coffee drinker I'd definitely try it out but it's not for me. I can tell by seeing everyone that they loved it tho!
The interior design has a Universidad de Chile theme where the walls are adorned with merchandise from shirts to flags and whatnot. It's a nice vibe with a retro cafe...
Read moreA local institution by the sound of it. Feels like a retro diner with lots of things on the wall supporting the local University. Very cool! It was packed when we were there, but we got seats and service is lightning fast. However, with how busy they are it can be hard to get their attention after placing your initial order. Low prices for the amount you get!
Food options are basically two stuffed breads plus banana milk, coffee, and tea. Highly recommend trying both breads and GET THE BANANA MILK! We were skeptical but it was completely worth it.
Recommend stopping here to grab a snack,...
