The grandness of what this place once was is evident from the second you set eyes upon it. Standing out in bright yellow, the place shines from its perch clinging to the edge of the hill, radiating out over the splendor of Valparaiso.
On closer inspection you realise what a faded beauty this place is. The paint is chipped and peeling in almost all places. The decor is dated but billed as 'historic'.
All manageable in the big scheme of things and you'll be hard pressed to see past the magnificent view. However, the downstairs rooms are right under the dining room, so you hear every scraping chair and thudded footstep from wherever breakfast is being prepared through to when the party stops.

All part and parcel of being in a lively port city but can...

It offers an amazing view of the harbor nicely fit in the surroundings. The restaurant has an acceptable variety of dishes, mostly traditional food. It tastes good. The grand terrace is recomendable mainly because of the view. Chairs and tables do not really make justice to the atmosphere and seem rather suitable for a motorway service station. But its overcome by the environment and charm of this part of town. Cocktails are very well prepared. No luxury, prices are in normal...
