I must admit that this is my first place at a hostel and it was an amazingly good surprise! Much more than the bad idea I had about hostels!||||The key issue in it is that this one has also private rooms with private bathrooms, and it is also a cheap but definitely excellent choice. The rooms are comfortable, private, quiet, extremely clean and with a small but nice bathroom with a great shower hard to find even in big hotels!||||Beside of the nice decoration and area where it is located, the most important thing to point is the extraordinary quality of their staff. The guys in charge were really kind and useful to give great recommendations for places to visit, tips to save money, security tips and places to eat, that helped me to have a great time in Valparaiso an Viña del Mar with many different and great things than I've found in travel guides.||||Hostel is located in a good area, easy to access by car or walking and there is a short road to going down to the docks.||||Finally, if that is not enough, you will have free wifi connection!||||If you visit Valparaiso, I strongly reccommend you this...
Read moreWe needed a place to stay in Valparaiso and we weren't looking to pay hotel prices. We found this one online and it looked cool since it was an old building and had an interesting old school feel. Close to the main happening street but still out of the crazy bustle that we could get a good night's sleep. |Unfortunately our booking got messed up and it only booked for one person. So we were sharing with someone (which wasn't an issue since we were originally expecting to stay in a dorm). However despite the cramped lodging for one night, we still had a good sleep, hot water, breakfast, and the guy at the desk offered to put my electronic stuff in a safe just to be safe :) |If you're looking for a comfortable hostal dorm style stay at a very reasonable price, I definitely...
Read moreMy wife and I were taken to this beautiful, quaint restaurant in November 2014. We had eaten lunch in Viña del Mar and our escort suggested La Colombina in Valparaiso for dessert and coffee. The view was extraordinary. Although we did not have a meal, we did have dessert - which was excellent. It is difficult to find, riding up ancient sloping elevators, and we lost track of how to get there. We just found it on Google maps and will be going again very soon. Edited 1 year later: We returned for a full meal. The prices were high and they were inflexible in their menu. They served something raw to my wife (she misunderstood the Spanish menu) and refused to cook it. They still required payment in full. We ended up taking it home and cooked it there. I will never go...
