There were two TVs in the room, but they were internet TVs. The first one never worked. The second one worked for the first two days and stopped working because the internet was down, so was the wifi. When the front desk called to say the toilet was broken, we told him the toilet was okay but the TVs were down. What happened next was unbelievable. The front desk showed up with the manager and prevented us from leaving the room, saying we dropped the control panel of the toilet to the ground and broke it. The toilet is the elaborate Japanese kind with a nozzle to spray your bottom. We told them it was working fine, but the manager said the janitor who cleaned our room reported the control wasnât working so they took it out and repaired it while we were out, that was the reason it was working fine. By now I realized the management wanted to shake us down for some money! What is even more strange is they didnât even ask for us to pay for the repair. The manager said even though the control panel was working now, but it was not the same as new, and we needed to pay for the difference! By then we got really mad and the manager started to retreat and told us he would appeal to his boss (in Chinese the boss is called âlast name+generalâ on our behalf. On the fourth day when we checked out, the front desk seemed to forget what had happened and returned our 300 yuan deposit. We know Chinese businessmen (we are Chinese) like to shake down for more money but this takes the cake. What an...
Read moreItâs like a normal hotel in China. Located in a big building. The room is quite old but spacious. Cleaning everyday. Had a mini fridge, laundry/dryer machine, and stove. The breakfast, for a 10 day stay was very poor. Not much variety, almost everyday we ate the same. Not juice provide (except 1 day) At the last day I encountered a problem with the dryer, it overheated and we could not take our clothes out, we were told when we come back at 5pm, we will have our clothes at the lobby. We came back and they told us it was a holiday, they could not get the technician to open the dryer, we were leaving the country the next day so we couldnât wait for them to ship the clothes. As a result we were late for our train, we had to pay for another train ticket (2) and to wait at the train station till 2 am in the morning, for the next train. When we got to Shenzhen the metro station was closed and we had to pay a taxi to our hotel which was 420 rmb (55USD) We didnât contact the hotel for compensation or anything because they were very rude when we asked for our clothes, they even mentioned if we wanted to open the dryer we had to pay for repair costs. Even though we didnât break it, we called them and told what happened because it started beeping very loud because it was overheating. Not a very good experience overall. I would not recommend foreigners to stay here! The are better...
Read moreThe hotel was spacious, but we had some weird experiences haha! One night, a cockroach got into our roomâmy husband stepped on it, and I kicked it out into the hallway. The funny (but gross) part? It stayed there for days⊠proof that no one was cleaning the hallway. On our 3rd night, they suddenly cancelled our room access, even though we booked 4 nights. And on our last night, they didnât give us new towelsâwhich was fine, honestly, because I already doubted how clean they really were.Breakfast was just average, nothing to rave about. And they didnât even provide conditioner, so my hair really suffered đ To be fair, there were a few nice things tooâlike they let us stay 10 minutes more so my husband could finish drying clothes, and they gave us water when we asked. Small gestures, but still appreciated.Overall, itâs okay if youâre just staying for a short stopover, but not that nice for a...
