Booked here sort of at the last minute so a lot of hotels were already booked out. I got a free room upgrade which was awesome!!! Housekeepers did a great job, location was the highlight for me as the hotel is surrounded by a number of eateries, bakeries, retail and more importantly public transport connections (tram, bus and train). The Wan Chai train station is a short walk and Causeway Bay is just a 4 minute train ride on the Island line. You can get to the Wan Chai train station via the Airport Express train, get off at the Hong Kong station then jump on the Island line from Central station. Alternatively you can catch a taxi from the Hong Kong station but this is more for convenience rather than price. One member at reception was really nice and he would always greet me and we'd have a short chat on my comings and goings. Other staff at reception weren't very friendly. Being on level 1 wasn't ideal as this room is right across from the common area so if a guest is cooking, doing laundry or just having a chat with other guests it can all be heard (and smelt) in your room so I'd pick a higher floor next time. Balcony had no view and wasn't ideal as it seemed a bit hazardous and full of dust from the surrounding buildings. Perhaps more tea offerings in the room e.g. Earl Grey and Assam, milk and brown sugar. No electrical outlet in the bathroom for the hair dryer or other hair tools. Air con was perfect. Pay at property option is great too. Comfy bed and pillows.

I stayed at Mingle by the Park in Hong Kong and wouldn’t recommend it. The room was tiny—barely enough space to move. The sink was the width of a palm. The AC blew straight onto the bed and couldn’t be adjusted due to the cramped layout. The place felt old and worn. I found trash under the bed and saw cockroaches near the fridge and behind the bed. No elevator in the main building, which made hauling luggage a pain. Walls are paper thin—you hear every sound from next door. It’s also on a busy street, and noise from cars and buses comes right through the windows. The only upsides were the low price (by Hong Kong standards), a narrow balcony, a small rooftop with some chairs, and a central location in Wan Chai. Also, the flood of one-sentence, three-word 5-star reviews looks fake. Doesn’t match the reality. For what you get, a hostel makes more sense. Same conditions, probably cheaper, and maybe a better vibe.

This hotel is not good as advertisements. I pay 1000HKD for 2 nights, the price is not cheap compared to other hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui area but this hotel somehow more like a guest house rather a hotel: - No lift: We stayed on level 5 and we had to go up to 7F (lift access from 2F in other building) and carried our luggage down to 5F by connected path. - Poor cleaning: our room has a towel on the floor next to the bed when we open the room - Room: small, difficult to find space to our luggage, noisy at the night (if you are light sleeper, better not choose this hotel) I understand that Hong Kong is expensive but I know we can find better hotel at this price. In my opinion, I would rather pay a little bit extra to have better room quality and hotel services.

The building is split into two blocks which require you to go above your floor in a lift and cross over a terrace and go down 2 floors to arrive at the 4th floor hotel room in which we stayed. Unusual and most inconvenient when it came to moving heavy bags and luggage. No baggage concierge is available. A separate stairwell enables access to the ground floor via a private entrance/exit. If flights of stairs are a problem for you this could be an issue, otherwise it will require you to embark on the unusual route of having to go up first to go down if choosing to use the lift if your room happens to be in the separate block. The room itself was pleasant and styled in an appealing old fashioned manner, albeit very cramped with not enough storage space we found. The addition of a small balcony enabling a space to smoke with our double standard room was fantastic. Being able to be outside without leaving your room was very welcome. This was the sole feature (as well as laziness) as to why we extended our stay in the hotel past our initial booking check out date. However management tried to increase the rates the longer we stayed not honouring the prices offered by booking sites only offering 'take now' or lose the room and non-negotiable walk-in prices at the reception. (Don't be fooled), when you would otherwise expect rooms to offer some form of discount the longer you stay. Front of house staff were very friendly and helpful and the efficient cleaners who unfortunately don't clean under the beds for some peculiar reason. However the rest of the room was well maintained daily. Some of our facilities were broken however, the outdoor balcony light didn't work, the tiny sink slender man would have trouble using and the built in usb chargers in the wall did not work at all requiring us to buy one and plug into a regular power socket in order to charge devices. Steady WiFi connection. A handy safe to store valuables, a washing machine on the first floor, hang dry as the dryer was terrible or alternatively using a launderette was a more practical option. As well as a microwave and portable oven for public use downstairs next to the reception. A medium sized smart television with Amazon prime included. A kettle and tea and coffee for two is provided daily as well as a handy sparsely stocked mini fridge whose contents were never touched. However these flaws were not a deal breaker for us, although it could be for others. Wan Chai is also a very busy and noisy road. Soundproofing is not the best so if you are close to ground level noise pollution from pedestrians, buses, taxis, and general traffic as well as shops which advertise with megaphones during opening hours could be a major issue for those noise sensitive. Despite the mingles shortcomings we did find the room endearing and the location is absolutely fantastic and very accessible to many shops and food establishments (breakfast and dinner options on your doorstep), and even a friendly cheap! locals darts bar round the corner within staggering distance (casks darts bar). Ferry, MTR, bus stops and trams to central and causeway bay within short walking distance too. In all we both found we enjoyed our stay in the Mingle. I have no reservations about staying again due to its fantastic location and the provided balcony feature providing current room rates are...

Location|A short 5 minutes walk from the E11 bus stop that would get you directly from and to the HK Airport. The nearest MTR station is about a 8 minute walk away. Also greatly accessible by buses and trams.||Plenty of food choices around the area. Supermarket a street away and 7/11 just around the corner. ||For churchgoers, The Vine is conveniently just behind the hotel.||Room|The room, just like most HK rooms, is small but as we got the biggest room, we felt it was alright. Room is clean and basic toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothbrush, kettle, hair dryer, towels etc) are provided. ||Sound proofing of the room isn't the best. Because of the road facing windows, sound from downstairs can be heard quite clearly. But thankfully we can't really hear neighbouring rooms except for their morning alarms. ||The layout of the hotel is pretty confusing. Rooms which are on the same building as the reception are lift accessible, otherwise you will have to walk up or confusingly take the lift to the 7th floor and cross over a balcony/bridge then walk down. We were on the 5th floor of the non lift accessible building, so it was a pain to carry our luggage up and down the stairs. The confusing layout also led to people randomly trying to open our door. Security wise, as the stairway to the non lift accessible building directly opens up to the main road (no gate) security might be a concern especially if living on the lower floors. ||Service|The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Note that there is no hotel attendant so no one to help with carrying luggage to the room. ||Overall|I quite enjoy the stay. For the price it's not bad, would have been great if it was...

4 star price for a 1/2 star hotel. It's not even a hotel, really, it's a guest house, which is a BIG step down from a hotel. Location is not bad, but very difficult to get a taxi. I stayed on the 4th floor, which is actually the 5th floor. Why do I say this? Because I had to carry my super heavy bags up 11 flights of steps to get to the room. The building is very old, there was mold on the walls, the window shades were the metal blind type that were all bent and broken. The sink in the bathroom was in between two walls with only 12 inches or so for a mini-sink that I could not even get my head over to spit out my toothpaste. Shaving? No way. The bed was a king, and very comfortable, but it literally took the whole room, and there was nowhere to put my bag. The TV worked. Unlike 99.9% of the hotels I have stayed in, they charged an obscene price for a bottle of water. So, had to go to the convenience store for that. There are no other facilities at the hotel. The check in clerk was disinterested, only cared about the money in advance. I needed to borrow an umbrella, and they did not trust me to return it, and demanded a deposit after I already gave them a HKD500 deposit for the room. After I got angry, the clerk said, just take it. The check out clerks were also disinterested, I had to ask for a receipt, they didn'k look at me the whole time and barely said a word, a "thank you for staying with us" would have been nice. I said "you're welcome" anyway because I wanted to be polite. See the other reviews here that speak negatively about this place, and pay attention because they...
