I can not speak highly enough of this hotel! As a solo young female traveller, I couldn't feel safer (which is incredibly important to me!) This hotel is close to the Wan Chai Train Station (probably 5 minutes at most) and had concierge staff downstairs to help plan your trip or just a quick chat whilst waiting for the lift. I arrived early (around 9AM) and as expected, my room wasn't available yet. The front desk lady was lovely, checking me in and letting me know my room would be ready around 1PM. She kept my luggage so I could go and see the sights! Amazing English from the staff - she even cracked a few jokes! Room was amazing! I booked an executive suite and the view alone was worth it! The room was spacious and clean. The room was very quiet and I couldn't hear the other guests on my floor - there were only 2 other rooms on the floor. Bed was very comfortable! I did accidentally lock myself out of the room one night as the lock on the door can be confusing. A trip down to reception fixed that, with the front desk employee calling a maintenance man and opened up the door for me. Didn't have to wait at all! Would 100% stay here again on my next visit to Hong Kong! Amazing staff and amazing room! They have perfected the little things that make a hotel great!

Location is at Wanchai MTR. Exit from A3, turn left.. see a subway.. then walk up.. reach in 2 min. Otherwise from Airport(HKD<50) take the bus to Wanchai… alight at bus stop nearby( I use goggle map.) .. cross the road .. walk past 7-11. Turn left then reach. Nearby a lot of food . Kam roast. Hotel is near henessy road . Have lots of char chan teng(cafe) .. behind hotel and same stretch as Kam Roast has. Dim Sum. Good also Hotel is clean and room I got is 22 in size . Ok. In terms of HK price and size . Air con is super good! Water pressure is good. Only ia no bidet… they have UK plug in room so good for me .. one floor only 4 room. So ok. Check in is level 3.. very nice deco. The front desk guys are helpful. Last day. I took cab to airport and cost around HKD350. Explore nearby and alot of local shops and market to walk . Walk down to causeway bay or take tram(another experience). Please ensure have outopus card at all time . It’s really useful

Actually we like the hotel vey much. It is spacious and location is great. 5 min walk to MTR, all kinds of restaurant around. The only thing we hesitate to come back is they only give us one room key. If my husband and I have different errands to do, we either have to meet somewhere to come back together or go to the 3rd floor front desk and ask them to take one of us to our room. It is such a stupid policy. When I asked the check in girl, she said it is the hotel policy, very rude without explanation. When I checked out, I asked the staff again, he said the keycard that they ordered haven't arrived yet. So, we do hope that the hotel will give 2 keycards to couple in the future. But I remembered seeing other reviews with this stupid policy. Don't know whether they are willing to change at all. 只給一張門咭, 如果兩公婆有不同地方去, 回酒店就太麻煩了!

Worst place ever. Really do not recommend that you stay here.

The rooms are really old, there are no electrical plugs near the bed which is really quite inconvenient. (inconvenient but not the end of the world) The rooms are not clean either. They haven't been properly ventilated or dusted. After one night in there I had dust allergies and been sneezing all day. To be honest this is the biggest issue for me. This also speaks volumes to the cleanliness. We asked for some basic cutlery to have take out in our room and the cutlery we were given was dirty and there were food marks on the knives. Half of the bathroom is actually in your room. There are 2 sinks in the middle of your room. not amazing in my opinion for privacy when doing your daily routine. The rooms don't even properly block out light. Which is a problem for me if you are a light sleeper. They have blinds which sound like they would be good but unfortunately light gets out from the top which wakes me up in the morning.

Because we had booked 9 nights, we wanted to leave and while we wanted to pay for the night we had stayed and leave and find somewhere else, the hotel refused to refund us the other 8 nights. In their defence, they did offer to upgrade us (bearing in mind we had by no means booked the cheapest room and had actually chosen a nicer room to get a view and more space). The problem is that even the nicer room didn't address our concerns (dust, bathroom, light).

Maybe the only good thing about this place is the location. It is in a very convenient location in Wanchai.

So overall, I would not recommend this place. If you do, be very careful about the booking policy you agree to. To be honest given the availability of hotel rooms in Hong Kong at the moment I would recommend that you check a place first before you commit to such a long stay in a place where you absolutely do not want to stay but are forced to because the hotel will refuse to give you your money back on nights you haven't even...

Me and 2 friends book 1 room specially for Halloween makeup. But 2 of my friends only checked in because I was going to join them after work and staff asked my friends how many people she clearly said 3 but will join later. At first front desk man allowed 2 more friends to join us but they were in hotel just for Halloween makeup and to put their stuff before Halloween party. However when we return from party at 5 am all depressed and extremely tired and in addition my friend lost her whole bag, phone purse everything then this Desk front old middle age man didn’t let us to get our stuffs. He was very rude and disrespectful. I told him we booked for 3 but 2 will only get their things and leave Wanchai88 hotel but He rudely insists us to stay back and told my friends to get our stuff from room and leave. We can understand that it’s policy or whatever but the way he talk is flat rude. He said why you guy came at 5 am? This is freaking hotel and we paid for it. And you staff are definitely not our parents to show anger and talk badly. Definitely this hotel is not for friends gatherings like other hotels that I have booked previously. The wall was freaking thin and can hear everything the next door talking. I am mad at my friend suggesting this hotel. I will never ever gonna book this hotel ever again. P.s we knew many people were not allowed in1 room therefore we booked 1 room before then again added 1 more room but Now I regret wasting my money because I was the one who treat them room and I wasn’t allowed to stay. We were too tired to argue that night shift doorman so we all just checked out at around 5 30 AM. Well very disappointing experience worst Halloween and worse...

Staffs in the hotel repeatedly entering your room which is unacceptable! ||My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay for a week before moving into a new apartment. We switched on the ‘Do not disturb’ button as soon as we entered the room. The staffs kept ringing the bell and asking if we needed house cleaning service although the ‘Do not disturb’ button was on. (which I don’t understand what the button is there for if the staffs ignores the signal) . It could be anytime during the day and you cannot expect when they will come and start pressing the bell. They entered the room without our permission as we didn’t open the door ‘on time’, which happened 3 times during our stay when we were still sleeping. No privacy at all.||Anyone who is thinking to reserve a night in this hotel should think about it and WEAR SOMETHING to sleep since you will never know who would open your door in the morning and ask if you need room cleaning.||The third time someone opened our door was at 10 am in the morning! We could not hold it and went straight down the front desk looking for the manager and we got told that the manager won’t be back until 2:30pm. We complaint to the staff who was working at the front desk and told her what happened during our stay. She couldn’t explain it and asked us to wait for the manager.||We waited for the whole day before our check out time and no one has ever reached to us. No explanations, no apologies.Nothing at all.||We never thought something like this would happen and we have never had any problems staying with other hotels in Hong Kong but Hotel 88 Wanchai! Shameful and...
