New Hong Kong Hostel — Hotel in Hong Kong

I booked a room here months in advance. I got an email within 12 hours of my friends and I checking in saying that they could not verify my payment on the card. I already paid the deposit and online it said I would be paying once we got there. The staff member emailed me saying that he already rebooked my room without even offering to save the room. He said he could not hold it for me. Then I got another email later that day from the same staff that he was waiting for us to check in still at 7pm? I was so furious with getting charged and having to find another place to stay in HK (this was all very stressful) and then getting this email was irritating. We decided to go to the actual new London hostel and tell them we had booked another place because of all the confusing weird emails they sent me. The office wasn't even in the same area where the hostel was, it was completely in another block in Chungking mansion. The staff members were two men at the front desk who were very rude and tried denying it all. They were clearly in the wrong and weren't willing to admit that they should have kept our rooms because it says online you pay once you get there. The two men just shooed us off angrily. I was glad I was not staying there after all this confusion with booking and how the staff treated us. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. They still ended up charging me for the deposit and part of my stay there when I didn't even stay or cancel on them? They canceled on me! Terrible staff, and not trustworthy people. We booked in to the New Hong Kong Hostel for One week In August 2012. The owner owns several of the hostels in Block C at Chungking Mansions and as a result we actually ended up in the "Garden Hostel" on floor 16.||||The Hostel was absolutely perfect for our needs. We had an immaculate room, which was cleaned daily by the friendly and helpful staff. The room is small, but there is plenty of room under the beds to store cases etc. The bathroom again was small, but perfectly equipped with a lovely hot shower. The Air con worked perfectly and there was a good size TV and free Wi-Fi.||||Given the location and price, visitors should expect small, neat things. The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff however were WELL above our expectations. We've spent time in countless Hostels across New Zealand, none of which come close to this hostel for cleanliness, convenience and comfort. ||||The location is perfect, and we really can't understand why people give Chungking Mansions such a bad press. We had done our research and expected the hawkers (which were very polite and no trouble), small lifts etc etc so there were no big surprises. Chungking Mansions is not a threatening place although people may not have experienced this kind of environment before, so do check it out in advance. The curry restaurants are excellent and there are some of the cheapest snacks and drinks in all of Hong Kong on the ground floor!||||We would DEFINITELY stay here again. Если Вы хотите остановиться в самом центре Гонконга, но в тоже время максимально сэкономить, то дорога Вам в Chungking Mansion. Здесь расположены более 80-ти хостелов и гест-хаузов. Сразу скажу, что прекрасных видов здесь не будет, также как и комфорта. Напишу немного о здании, в котором находится New International Guet House.У этого 17-ти этажного здания очень хорошее расположение, оно находится в центре Гонконга на известной Nathan Rd (36-44). Там стоят 5 блоков (A,B,C,D,E), которые примыкают друг к другу. Рядом находятся станции метро Tsim Sha Tsui и East Tsim Sha Tsui. Также рядом находится остановка автобуса A21, который курсирует в (из )аэропорт. На первом этаже кучи мелких лавок со всякой всячиной начиная от специй и заканчивая всякой электроникой. САМОЕ ГЛАВНОЕ там присутствуют несколько ОБМЕННИКОВ с КУРСОМ довольно ХОРОШИМ для Гонконга. Это здание больше напоминает муравейник, как перед входом в здание так и внутри толпы выходцев из Африки и Азии и каждый пытается тебе что-нибудь продать . Если Вы ничего не желаете у них покупать, то лучше будет игнорировать их вообще. Они хоть и"прилипчивые", но если Вы им ответите пару раз"НОУ!", то они сразу отстают и ищут новых покупателей. Внутри круглосуточная охрана, на каждом углу, а также в лифтах и на лестничных площадках висят камеры. Сразу напишу, что есть 2 лифта, один для чётных этажей, другой для не чётных. Когда я там был (2013г.), то чтобы подняться на лифте на 11-й этаж в свой номер, приходилось долго стоять и ждать когда же можно будет втиснуться в кабинку лифта, т.к. очень большой наплыв людей. Думаю, что это моё описание актуально и на сегодняшний день. Точно не помню, но по-моему в кабинку лифта может поместиться человек 10, смотря как набьется. Хотя за перегрузом следят. Возле лифта написаны названия хостелов и гест-хаузов, которые там находятся. Итак, напишу пару слов о New International Guet House. Находится он в блоке"А" на 11-м этаже, лифт 2. Я за 2-е ночи заплатил 600 HK$. Опишу свой номер. Номер очень маленький (где-то 7 квадратных метров), там помещается только односпальная кровать, нет ни стола ни тумбочек. Вещи можно сложить под кроватью. Хотя номер маленький, но для одного человека всё необходимое для жизни есть. На стенах висят вентилятор, сплит-система, тв. Неплохой санузел (я бы даже сказал, что больше номера), всегда была горячая вода. Вообщем этот номер для того чтобы переночевать. Мне этот вариант очень нравится тем, что в обычных гестах или хостелах как правило в одной комнате от 4-х и более мест, а здесь ты один и всё для тебя одного. Поблизости находится такие достопримечательности Гонконга как: Авеню Звёзд ( с ежедневным вечерним шоу"Симфония Огней"), Парк Коулун (Kowloon Park), Ночной Маркет (Night Market). Недалеко находятся причалы (пешком 10-12 минут) Star Ferry Pier ( паромы на остров Гонконг и China Ferry Pier (можно отправиться в Макао). В аэропорту на "нулевом" уровне можно купить билет за 33 HK$ на автобус A21. Также в аэропорту можно купить Octopus card , которой оплачиваются услуги: автобус, метро и тд. Автобус A21 идёт до Chungking Mansion примерно от 45 минут до 1,5 часа (всё зависит от пробок). У здания рядом (50 м.) есть остановка #14 Middle Rd Tsim Sha Tsui. Chungking Mansion - это здание считается самым много национальном зданием Гонконга.||Из минусов:||Нет холодильника ( в моём номере).||Нет балкона.||Нет бассейна.|| В Гонконге проживание дорогое, так что если нужен эконом-вариант, то этот Гест New International Guet...
