Cleanliness: at first glance, the room looks clean. However; if you examine it closer. Tiles are broken; there are insects and roaches in the room. There were brown stains in the “clean towels” provided. They do not even check if the room still has adequate supply of toiletries, soap and etc. U have to go back to the reception floor to ask for them. I killed around seven cockroaches in my short stay here. The cockroaches even reached to my bed while moving. My friend was bitten by alot of insects. So itchy. There also seems to be no water to flush the toilet. This is a hassle. Becoz u need to fill the basin with water to flush the toilet. They also do not provide paper cups for water. In terms of service: i have mixed feelings because there is an annoying old lady who refuses to give tissue paper. But at the same time, there is a nice younger looking oppa who gives good service. The location is good tho. Many shops and restos around. Near the subway station. The pictures are misleading. I thought i would be staying in a hop inn but ended up in a wee inn. I do not recommend this if you care about hygiene and cleanliness.I wouldnt stay here again. I recommend staying in an old hotel with complete service like the imperialhotel. Just for an additional couple of bucks. Your vacation experience will be enhanced. You’ll end up spending more to compensate for what is lacking in this hotel. Might as well stay in a good hotel to avoid the hassle and inconvenience. They have good internet tho. But every building in hongkong...
Read moreOur overall experience staying at Hop Inn Hotel was satisfying. The staff members were approachable & easy to deal with. Although we arrived late due to airport processing delays & we failed to check-in on our supposed Day 1, but I was surprised to know that they actually waited for us until midnight. We arrived past 1am. We had to check-in at another hotel. I liked that they can be contacted conveniently through WhatsApp, so every time we have any requests like water refill for the water dispenser, a replacement towel, or toiletries, we did not have to go to their main office on the 13th floor. They cleaned our room daily during our 5-day stay. Our belongings remained safe. I appreciate that they had a big shelf by the side of the bed, where my kids placed their stuff so their out of the beds and another shelf at a corner with a few hangers where we organized our used and unused clothes; hot and cold shower; two stools/chairs; and most of all, a medium-sized table where I was able to temporarily store our foods & vitamins where they can be easily reached and work conveniently with my laptop during the night. Only suggestion for improvement, though, is to get rid of the smell of cigar smoke in the room. Thankful that we had my daughter's anti-allergy meds with us and her allergies did not trigger. Overall, the experience was good. Thank you! God bless...
Read moreI don't know how the reviews for this place are this high because the only good thing about this hostel is the location and free wifi.
The MTR is located on either side of the building, the bus stops are nearby, and there are plenty of malls are in walking distance.
Our rooms were on the thirteenth floor of Mirador Mansions, and which is only accessible by two elevators. There is almost always a line since the building hosts residential places, and other hostels and businesses.
The room constantly reeked of ammonia because of the moldy wet room. To top it all off, the bedsheet, blankets, and towels they provided all had some kind of stain on them.
Housekeeping also enters your room while you're out, so make sure not to leave any valuables outside and to lock your luggage when you leave. They also changed our bedsheets (to something with bigger stains...) and somehow broke our showerhead.
Other reviews say the view is good, but it's honestly nothing to rave about and NOT worth the experience you're paying for.
TLDR: Good location, but the place is filthy and the building is in disrepair. Only stay here if you're planning to be out for the entire day. DO NOT stay here if you're a female traveler, too many...
