I stayed at this hotel (I would call it a dorm instead) for 3D2N in March 2019.||Booked this place at the last minute as I could only confirm my stay a week before, and it was the cheapest.||I did my research on this place before booking so I had a vague idea of what to expect.||The only reasons for choosing this place was due to my budget and the location.||||You had to enter from building "B" by entering the code '2' then '6' which will open the glass door, following which you had to take a lift to level 6 reception.||Look for the (paper) signage saying Galaxy Hotel and the receptionist will bring you to your room.||||I booked the standard single room.||The room was extremely small, just a single bed and bedside table for furnishing.||The door could not be opened fully as it would be obstructed by the bed.||A TV was mounted at the foot of the bed and a mirror with hooks to hang your belongings.||A toothbrush, bottled water, cup, bedroom slippers and hairdryer was provided.||No toilet is included in the room.||A tiny bathroom is shared along a common corridor.||||Pros:||Excellent location, a mere 5 minutes from Causeway Bay MTR.||Many shops (Adidas, Reebok, Kiehl's, H&M, Sasa, other well known shops) a stone's throw from the hotel.||Cleanliness, housekeeping was great, with fresh towels replaced daily and the keepers were friendly as well. Bottled water was also provided everyday.||The common toilet was also kept clean, though I suppose it would be the shared effort of all the guests to keep it usable.||||Cons:||Rooms were extremely tiny, even my 3 friends who shared the triple room had the same sentiments.||For a solo traveler who enjoys privacy, you would find this place suitable for you.||Though I did not encounter this problem, I can understand why other reviews complained about the lack of customer service.||For those who booked the single room like me, sharing a toilet with other guests could be troublesome as you had to wait for the others to finish.||||Summary:||You definitely get what you paid for.||If you're just looking for a place to crash after shopping and walking the whole day, this would be the place for you.||If you're a fussy traveler, look elsewhere.||||The accessible location and cleanliness just barely made me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't usually give this bad a review, in fact I have never given this kind of bad review before, but this supposedly 2 Star Hotel, is a joke... a very bad sick joke!||||To start with, this is not what I would described as a hotel; it is just a floor of converted apartments located in an apartment building! ||||There was no signage on the road to show where it was, so took the driver a while to find it. No parking as well and the road was double yellow, so the car had to drop us off in a nearby road - not good, when you are travelling with wife and 4 yr old daughter!||||When we finally made it to the hotel, which was on the 6th floor, we asked the receptionist for a late check-out as our flight was in the evening. He charged us HKD900 for half day and he tried to get us to pay for the full day (HKD1800) just in case we didn't check out in time - the cheek! I realised later that he overcharged us as HKD900 in USD is around USD115, more than a full day!||||The room was the worst! I know that hotel rooms in HK can be small, but this was beyond ridiculous! I even booked the standard triple room! The bathroom was VERY SMALL - basically the size of the bathroom is of the size of a shower cubicle with toilet and sink together! you can sit on the toilet to shower - we also didn't feel safe as the electric wires for the water heater wasn't properly covered against water!||||The beds were VERY Uncomfortable and we got biten by bed bugs! YES, I KID YOU NOT!! BED BUGS! Me and my wife got bitten a lot... it was so bad we had to go to the pharmacy for cream and anti allergy tablets! Luckily my daughter was not biten otherwise god knows what I would have done to them!||||So, my advise, STAY AWAY! VERY VERY HORRIBLE, and considering they overcharged us for the late check out, CROOKS AS WELL!||||Any website letting them advertise as a hotel should be ashamed! IT IS NOT A HOTEL! EVERYTHING ON THE BOOKING WEBSITE WAS MISLEADING - form the hotel description, photos...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe booked the place for a 7 day stay to attend a conference so we expected warm and hospitable treatment because of the business we gave them.
When we arrived middle of the night, we were transferred to another bldg because they own several flats. The cabinet had a plastic from a milktea straw and the socket had a hair strand hanging--signs that the room was not thoroughly cleaned.
The following day, we arrived in the room without bottled water, coffee, toilet paper and towels.
The day after that, we arrived 5pm and the room was not yet cleaned.
The local receptionist was mad at us because we kept on complaining in their wechat nonstop (apparently their manager sees it and she reprimands the staff). Of course we did not stop reporting their shortcomings because no action is being taken and we do not receive a reply from them.
With a loud and irritated voice, she also told us that every time we ask for extra coffee and water, it will be charged. We had to rebutt and say that we weren't asking for extra. We were asking for the supplies due us because they did not replenish the items.
The next day, they had a problem with their toilet tank so we had to use the shower head to fill up the tank.
It felt like every day there was a problem, and instead of coming home to relax after a tiring day, we'd dread to find out what's gonna go wrong.
Please reconsider before booking this place. Seems that the manager/owners are not treating the staff well, so it's being passed on to the customers.
Put your money somewhere...
