New Year’s Eve tasting menu - extremely over priced, generally well presented with a few average dishes and a number that were shockingly bad.
Overall even with the view of the fireworks and ok staff, this was my worst value for money meal ever and one of the biggest let down.
Each dish reviewed below, including pictures of worst offenders.
Berries Cured Hamachi. Just ok - nothing more to say.
Creamy Lobster & Scallop Bisque - artisanal bowl, but cold (running theme). Bisque was average, lobster pieces did not taste fresh. Scallop jelly like and cold, not even prepared well - still had pieces of the tough mantle/frill attached
Torched Spanish Prawns - mine was served raw as is intended. Did not smell or taste fresh. No signs of torching per description. Cocktail could not arrive fast enough to take taste away. My partner is pregnant and was served a cooked prawn. Genuinely looked like someone had taken a bite out - had to check with the chef - explanation was that it was damaged in the prep work. So why serve it… this was a theme with the ‘well done’ items - seemed like the chef used it as an opportunity to give my partner the off cuts.
Note: waitress gave a free round of drinks (after a couple of comments to make us feel like we shouldn’t be complaining).
Guinea Fowl Roulade - fine, but strange to have as a cold dish with the port wine sauce - sauce was actually pretty good even if roulade was a let down.
Confit Black Cod - possibly best dish of the evening. Cooked well and white onion sauce nicely balanced it. But - plates were stone cold - don’t understand this approach…
A5 Miyazakigyu Sirloin. Mine was great - fantastic piece of beef, overall nice dish. My partner’s well done beef and was again like the prawns - a nightmare. 90% + fat and totally unrecognisable to the beef I had. Such a shame as dish most looking forward to. Felt like something that could not be served medium or rare was punted out because harder to visually see when well done.
Cheese platter - never seen something so small. 4 pieces of cheese smaller than the tip of my finger. Two of which were 50% + rind. Don’t understand the point of serving something like this.
Dessert - super tasty, really enjoyed even though a little...

I found this newly opened restaurant for my best friend’s birthday, booked 2 weeks in advance via Openrice. Their system requested to pay $500 per head deposit within 3 days after booking, otherwise the table will be cancelled automatically by the system.
I’ve made a note about we are here for the tasting menu, prefer couch seat that is closer to the window., writing happy birthday on the dessert.
On the day, we have arrived early than our reservation time, saw a bunch of staff were standing at the storefront drinking and mingling, which I found was interesting.
A British waiter led us to regular table with two seats by the window, didn’t pull our chairs for us which I found interesting, for the second time. He came back for ordering and I asked for the tasting menu, he immediately responded that our reservation did not show up with this request and needed two days in advance to prepare for the tasting.
I was confused and started to apologize to my friend as I planned this special evening for her. Another waiter came and told us that they have two “spare” orders just right in to serve us. We also asked to move to a booth seat - as it was originally written in the note.
The entire tasting was OK, staffs were polite but we expected they would be more professional in explaining each dish and how it was made; instead, they read exactly the dish name and put down on the table…
They did write birthday wish on the dessert plate and sang a birthday song to my friend from their daily band in the house.
Overall, I think the food was OK, didn’t think it’s worth the price as I was paying the similar price for a Michelin’s restaurant.
Highly not recommended it as the staffs were chit-chatting most of the time, not refilling up our water and we didn’t feel welcomed.
Bathroom situation was terrible, poor hygiene and toilet papers were all...

This fine dining restaurant just opened 5 days ago! ✨Really liked its unique design as it creates a culinary experience where customers are surrounded by luxurious bookshelves, a grand sea view, and live music that fills the air. 🌃
7-course Tasting Menu 🍴 1️⃣ Japanese Mackerel The addition of citrus soy jelly and grilled pineapple added a refreshing twist to the mackerel. The balance of sweet and savory elements was spot on.
2️⃣ Melon Pearl Gazpacho The dish comes with a stone plate and offers a unique take on the traditional soup. The torched mixed melon provided a subtle smokiness, while the locally grown organic baby basil leaves, pickled cherry tomatoes, and greek yogurt added a burst of freshness.
3️⃣ Nagasaki Chicken Roulade with Beetroot Salad The tender chicken roulade filled with housemade chicken mousse, stuffed foie gras, sautéed mushrooms, and toasted pistachios. The roasted beetroot purée added a touch of earthiness, and the arugula salad with toasted walnut vinaigrette provided a refreshing contrast.
4️⃣ Carabinero Red Prawn with Shrimp Roe Noodle The shrimp roe noodle made from a 70-year-old local noodle brand was a delightful accompaniment, and the housemade red prawn sauce and Jihe river dried shrimp roe added depth of flavor.
5️⃣ Sous Vide Black Cod The fish, cooked sous vide in milk, parsley, thyme, and garlic, was incredibly tender and flavorful. The chorizo butter sauce and chorizo oil added a subtle smokiness, while the smoked celeriac purée provided a creamy and smoky element that complemented the fish perfectly.
6️⃣ Charcoal Grilled A5 Miyazakigyu Rib Cap The housemade yakiniku sauce added a rich umami flavor elevated the tender rib cap, sautéed shishito with Japanese miso, and creamy mashed potato.
