The Central Waterfront is a nice place to spend time now that the weather has turned cooler. Here you will find green and leisure space to enjoy when you are growing tired of the heavy crowds on the streets of Hong Kong.
The waterfront is where you will find the Hong Kong Observation Wheel (ferris wheel). There are also regular events held in the large open space at the waterfront. Presently, the waterfront is being used as the outdoor venue for the Hong Kong Light Festival. There are installations placed throughout the promenade area all the way to Tamar Park in the Admiralty district, making this a neat place to visit after dark this month.
Note: This is also a good place for those interested in watching upcoming fireworks displays, particularly the performance on Chinese New Year day early...
Read moreThe place was connected with the seaside promenade from the west side of the island. There were bus terminal and ferry pier plus the future subway station here. The view towards the harbour and Kowloon side was spectacular especially at night or during fireworks display event. I started at the Wanchai Ferry pier and headed through the area known as Pierside Precinct, before passing the Golden Bauhinia and Exhibition Centre.
From there it's a straight line all the way along the waterfront into Central area.
This section is part of "The Connector" a 5.5km stretch along Victoria Harbour.
So much to see and check out along the way, including those priceless views.
