We had a meal at Burgeroom back in January, probably won't return. This was the first time we have eaten here since they relocated to Fashion Walk Food Street. Big improvement on the seating area and ambience compared to their old location but we didn't care much for the food served this time around. Opening hours are 11am to midnight daily.
The restaurant at Fashion Walk offers up much more and better seating their their old place. There are indoor and outdoor tables. Do expect a bit of a queue if trying to dine at peak times or during weekends. Once seated, review the menu on the table, walk inside to the order counter-cashier to place your order. Like traditional burger joints, you'll be given receipt and a table number card. Your food and drinks will be brought out shortly.
As for our meal, we tried the truffle cheese fries (HK$62). The thick cut fries were nice on their own. However, the cheese sauce poured over the top was boring. Sadly, there was no truffle taste or flavour at all in this cheese sauce, making this a real waste of an order. Best to just simply stick to the normal thick cut fries (HK$28) and grab some tomato sauce and mustard at the counter.
As for burgers, we tried the bacon cheese burgers (HK$88) one with a side of jalapenos (+HK$12). The beef is minced with onion and cooked medium well. There was a bit of juice to give more flavour. Most of the toppings were fresh, the tomato wasn't ripe and tasted of nothing. Surprisingly, our burgers were served with unmelted cheese (see pictures), a big No-No when it comes to cheeseburgers. This really shouldn't have happened, particularly at a burger restaurant. Otherwise, the burgers tasted ok, nothing particularly great not bad. You can do much better (and worse) when seeking out burgers in Hong Kong.
In the end, we were disappointed with the truffle fries and how our burgers were served. This did affect our meal and made us wish we had gone to better burger establishments like Burger Joys, Beef & Liberty or Butcher Club where they make tasty and well made burgers. If it is any consolation, burgeroom is noticeably cheaper than the better burger joints around the city! From our experience, the quality of the food being prepared and served is reflected in the...
Read moreI HAVE NOT SEEN so many choices of burgers on a single menu..... I may have to come here almost 40 times or so...if I want to taste EVERY BURGER on their menu!😋.....and I won't rest until it is done👍🏻. Given so many choices of burgers, the name "Burgeroom" certainly fits and no other name can do justice to this place 😊. Those best restaurant awards it has received in 2016 and 2017 are well-deserved!
We ordered the FOIE GRAS BEEF BURGER and CHILLI MUSHROOM CHICKEN BURGER; with fries; Peach Iced Tea and Pineapple Iced Tea.
The FOIE GRAS BEEF BURGER - the FOIE GRAS was nearly perfectly seared - SLIGHTLY CRISPY FAT on the outside and on the edges ..... BROWNED BUT NOT BURNED and then the SOFTER FAT IN THE MIDDLE/INSIDE - perfecto !! (at least that's how I like it) For me the Foie Gras was the STAR ingredient of this burger ⭐️.
The Beef patty was well done and the foie gras and cheddar cheese went quite well with it.
This very same Burger is available in another variant - with double the pieces of foie gras.... in hindsight, I think I should've taken that one.... anyway maybe I can do that next week!
The CHILLI MUSHROOM CHICKEN BURGER- Generous quantity of chicken and coleslaw .... can't really go wrong with this combination and it was also good.... perhaps the chicken was (very) slightly on the CHEWY side but overall it was still pretty good.
I still have to try the many-many SEAFOOD BURGERS on the menu....as well as the many other beef and chicken burgers.... it's definitely gonna take a while to finish trying...
Read moreThe goose liver steak burger features a juicy beef patty topped with smooth, melted cheese and a slice of seared goose liver, adding a rich and luxurious flavor. It is served on a toasted sesame seed bun, accompanied by fresh lettuce and a light garnish of greens. The presentation is elegant, with the burger held together by a skewer, making it visually appealing and inviting. The combination of textures and flavors promises a decadent dining experience.
The portobello salad features a vibrant arrangement of fresh ingredients. At the center is a grilled portobello mushroom, topped with a small amount of tomato sauce or salsa. Surrounding the mushroom are slices of ripe tomato and rings of red onion, adding color and texture. The base consists of mixed greens, providing a fresh and crisp foundation. A small dish of dressing is placed on the side, likely for additional flavor. The presentation is clean and appealing, perfect for a light meal or appetizer.
The dish features a generous portion of crispy fries, golden and perfectly cooked, served in a small cast-iron skillet lined with parchment paper. Accompanying the fries are two dipping options: a small bowl of creamy cheese sauce, likely infused with the rich flavor of black truffle, and a metal cup of ketchup for a classic touch. The combination of the savory cheese and the earthy notes of black truffle elevates the fries, making them a luxurious and indulgent snack or side dish. The overall presentation is appealing, inviting you to enjoy this...
