Had visited this place with my wife. We had booked the âCaribbean themedâ room. We were staying in Room 4256 which is on the fourth floor. The hotel has a total of five floors. The fifth floor is where the suites are. ||Check-in was quite smooth. There is a pretty steep slope at the entrance of the hotel. So if you have some suitcases, be ready to push the last mile. For people outside of HK, be aware the Cheng chau islands has no cars on it; so you will need to drag your own suitcases once you get off the ferry. ||The hotel is a fair bit of walk from the ferry pier (about 350-400 meters). But then that is also the best part as it is in the more quiet part of the island. The part near the ferry pier is too crowded and noisy. ||The room is decently sized as per HK standards. The decorations are nice and the bed is very comfortable. The best part of the room is of course the balcony. Again a little tight in terms of size (especially with the coffee table and two chairs); but still pretty decent. Feels beautiful to sit in the balcony and enjoy the breeze. Very neat and clean rooms. ||We didnât try any of the restaurants in the hotel. But we had ordered the breakfast that is served in the room. They will line up the breakfast for you in the balcony and you can enjoy it there. The American breakfast was HK100$ per person. They serve a couple of slices of bread, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, sausages. In terms of taste, the breakfast was extremely mediocre to be honest. My recommendation would be to skip the breakfast unless you are really hungry. There are better breakfast places on the island. But then the experience of having that breakfast in a sea facing balcony kinda makes you feel better. A recommendation to the hotel would be to see how they can improve the quality of the breakfast. That would definitely enhance the experience. ||I had read some complaints in the other reviews |about slow WiFi and lack of hot water. Slow WiFi - yes. The WiFi connection was extremely slow. Couldnât stream on that. But then if you are hk residents then you donât need to worry as you can just stream from your mobiles (which is what we did). About the hot water, absolutely no issues. There was hot water available at all times with no problems at all. ||So honestly we were very happy with the property. In an island like Cheng chau, what really matters is how you can enjoy the nature and the sea. This hotel is perfect for that with its corner location and rooms with a beautiful balcony. It is a much better option than the other bed and breakfast places in Cheng chau. None of them have a complete sea view nor a balcony. Please donât expect a 5 star treatment as Cheng chau is not a place where you will have a 5-star HĂ´tel. ||Overall it was an amazing experience staying at Warwick and we would definitely be coming...

Read moreWe stayed here in a suite for several nights as a âstaycationâ during the covid-19 pandemic. Overall it was a mixed experience, with the view and location being the real highlights but the bathroom being a let-down. I will start with the positives. ||POSITIVES:||1. The views from a balcony room are outstanding. The view is directly over the main beach and across the South China Sea. From our room we were able to see the sea on both sides of the island - it was stunning. During the evening the lights of Hong Kong and Kowloon sparkled in the distance. This was the highlight of our stay.||2. Location is very convenient. It couldn't have been better. You are right on the main beach (although having said that, nothing is far from anything in Cheung Chau).||3. Even with luggage, it is an easy, flat walk (5-10 min) from the ferry terminal. However there is a steep ramp or steps once you get to the hotel. ||3. The balcony is tiny but they are designed to capture maximum view. If staying here, I'd recommend a balcony and sea-view room because this is the main reason for staying here at all. ||4. Special 'staycation' deals are frequently on offer during the covid-19 pandemic. ||5. Breakfast was very basic but had both Chinese and Western style food on offer. Eggs and omelettes were cooked to order and they did very nice runny eggs when we asked for this. We had breakfast included and went to the breakfast room each day although you can also have it served to your room for a balcony breakfast.||6. Wifi was OK for our purposes which was just checking messages etc (not streaming)||7. Bed was comfortable and the room was light and bright.||||NEGATIVES:||1. Our bathroom had black mould in the grouting, behind the silicon and on some surfaces like the door. A wooden panel was loose and fell off. Hot water was good and we had no problem with this but basically the bathroom needs a good overhaul.||2. Some maintenance work in the common areas was going on so large areas of carpet are covered in boards and there were several random buckets placed in hallways.||3. The room was not made up during our stay. One day, new soap and shampoo appeared in the bathroom but this was the only sign that anyone had been in the room.||4. DĂŠcor is dated. ||5. The fridge was extremely cold and froze milk and champagne but we could...
