This temple was constructed in 1813 by local fisherman and is dedicated to the God of the Sea (Hung Shing). It resembles numerous temples built during the Qing Dynasty, including a grey brick exterior and mural above the entrance. The interior decor includes a leather drum and a shrines with deity figures that are interesting to see. In the end, this is a convenient temple to visit while exploring the village area of Cheung Chau. It is just a few minutes away from the pier on the west side of the island as well as the beaches to the east. Give it 5-10 minutes to enjoy before moving on to other intended sightseeing in Cheung Chau.
