I recently had the opportunity to dine at Cheung Chau Pizza and have a lot to share about my experience. While the culinary products were satisfactory, the overall experience was marred and tainted by the presence of an extremely rude and distasteful server. I am in the belief that if you are unable to be accommodating and respectful to your customers, you do not deserve to work in a service job. It is obvious not a occupation that someone with such a short fuse can handle.
Looking at the restaurant's interaction with other reviewers, it is apparent that criticism is not taken lightly. How are you to critique the opinion of a reviewer by calling them "poorly educated children" when reviews are meant to provide criticism and honesty. The defensiveness is unwarranted and as a consumer, I would be disgusted to support a business that treats their customers in such a rude and unprofessional way.
The restaurant itself runs on providing incentive to leave positive feedback. They advertised a free dessert if we provided a 5 star review. Unfortunately, I am not one to simply feed into such a pipeline if I am unsatisfied with an experience. Cheung Chau Pizza, do better and hire staff that actually better your business. If the alleged server in question is the owner, consider either respecting your customers or pursue a different path of work because your personality is extremely...
Read moreAmazing food! My friends and I ordered the truffle calzone, Cheung Chau seafood pizza and the bolognese pasta. The calzone was full with cheese and the absolute highlight was the dough, crispy and buttery, like a croissant (it was huge, the calzone shown in the photos was 2/3 of its original size). The bolognese pasta, flavourful and lots of cheese. They even allowed us to add extra cheese to our own taste. The pizza dough was fluffy and there were a variety of toppings including small squids, shrimps, salmon and other common pizza toppings. The pumpkin soup was pretty nice. On top of everything, the food there was surprisingly not very pricey (since Hong Kong western food is usually expensive). Overall, a very nice meal. With this price and quality, would...
Read moreWe were a party of 7. The host was very accommodating with our party and got us right in. We had been in Hong Kong for a week and our children were wanting some western style food. We figured pizza was pretty safe. We ended up with several pasta dishes and several pizzas. They were all delicious. The chef came out and chatted with us for a while. He is a fascinating guy that is originally from Argentina. He has worked in the USA as well. Lots of Italian style food on the menu. You really can’t go wrong here from what we saw. I didn’t have high expectations for pizza on this small island in China, but it...
