Nice location - but the rooms need a serious upgrade.The hotel is located a short walk from West Nanjing Road down the popular MaoMing Road North.The decor is quite dated like from the lates 80s, early 90s. The heavy furniture, wool blend rugs and non blackout curtains needs to be changed. The room gets the harsh morning sun at first light - not idea for a sleep in.The room does have climate control (also old and dated) and a bar fridge which is a nice touch. There’s a hairdryer installed in the bathroom and a shallow bathtub.There’s staff speak great English and are helpful with storing bags and swift check-ins. Read moreThe location is decent. Not quite in the centre but only a short taxi or subway to People’s Square or the Bund. It is also very convenient for getting to and from the airport by taxi. The staff were polite and helpful throughout our stay, especially housekeeping who were friendly. The room was clean but aesthetically not great. Everything was quite dated and grey and our room had an odd layout with small windows that opened up into the hallway. The drains in the bathroom smell bad if left opened for more than a few minutes and there was also a bit of a smoke smell at times. Was super hot inside the room and no oxygen. The whole hotel was same. Could not breathe inside room. Asked few times to find solution - it was never found. Only was advised to cancel reservation ….- super bad and rude service;- Was given room without window.
