Environment: This location is conveniently located near Nanjing Rd Pedestrian Street 南京路步行街, which is surrounded by tons of shopping & food options. Making it a great place for food. Walking to the main road is a mere 5 minutes. The hotel is located on Level 4, within a mixed use building (commercial & other hotels on other level). This makes waiting for the elevator a little annoying and the hotels are served by a single elevator.Reception/Housekeeping: They are polite and attentive, with daily cleaning. However the hotels doesn't provide the usual form of towels but instead disposable types. This increases the hygiene for those who are concerned. Room: I've got the corner room, which is quiet and has an exterior facing window allowing for natural sunlight.Shower/Bathroom: Toilet facility is American style, and There's a wet-dry seperation. The shower does come with complimentary shower gel & shampoo. Other facilities: Washer / Dryer. This is located at the reception area. However with one 1 pair , waiting times can be slightly annoying if everyone decides to wash at the same time. But there's a paid option within 2 mins...
Read moreBrilliant! The location is a stone’s throw from East Nanjing Road, but in a quiet enough road that means you get to avoid much of the noise and traffic. Getting a didi to and fro- no issues. Room is very spacious and clean, and toiletries are changed daily (of note, housekeeping in china is pretty basic- think they just empty your garbage and change your toiletries, but won’t do any change of sheets etc unless you ask for it specifically- it was like this at all hotels i went to!). Front desk was lovely and friendly, signed for all the parcels I had ordered in advance of my arrival, accepted my food deliveries easily, and provided luggage storage for free on checkout. Wifi was good and strong too (do note that international apps will not be able to be accessed unless you have a vpn on account of this being a domestic network. One small gripe- hotel doesn’t provide towels but this disposable absorbent sheet that they change daily, and i think I still would have preferred an actual towel. But that is such a fine point in an otherwise extremely comfortable stay. I would stay again if returning...
Read moreLocation was great - right in the middle of Shanghai, with the bund walking distance. I even had a view of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower from my room! Unfortunately it was in a big building with lots of different floors and people staying at the hotel were only allowed to use one of the two building's elevators and there were no stairs that I could see. That meant that at busy times I did have to wait quite a while for the elevator. The hotel was no-frills, with no breakfast or anything offered but lots of food options nearby. Room was also just a single room but perfectly comfortable. Only issue with the room was the towel was a weird eco-friendly but disposable one instead of just a regular towel. Staff spoke some English but I can speak mandarin which did make things easier. Overall, these were very minor issues and I found the place comfortable and good...
