Ji Hotel Shanghai People's Square Fujian Middle Road — Hotel in Shanghai

Very awesome location in the center of Shanghai with a lot of food options around you. There's a subway station/underground mall level with great restaurants.

The hotel staff (including cleaning staff and chefs at the breakfast) are so much nicer than we experienced anywhere in Europe so far (and we live in Europe)! Really nice!

The breakfast buffet is big, lots of options, very very tasty!

The rooms are modern, AC doesn't smell old or unclean and is efficient (opposite of anything in Italy or the rest of Europe). Every room has fast wifi and a huge TV. Beds are comfortable with 2 types of cushions, quilt is nice and warm. Bedding and towels is spotless clean.

Especially nice are their toiletries aromas and fragrances!

You get an unlimited amount of bottled water and every room has packages of quality Chinese tea!

All in all just great! From now on every time we're in China, we look...

The walls are paper thin and you will hear everything going on in the rooms around you. This includes clearing throats, spitting, and other "fun" sounds that will wake you up at 1:00 am, then 3am. Etc.

If you love stale cigarette smells permeating everything, then make sure you are put on their second floor.

Cosmetic renovations make parts look nice, but don't be fooled by what it hides.

Location is good... But the trade off isn't worth it, especially in this price range. You might get lucky with a quieter room that isn't smelly an renovated, or you just might regret your poor...
