Roberto is amazing host who is very attentive and helpful if you need assistance with transportation, excursions, restaurant recommendations, etc. The property is stunning, and perfectly located near all the amazing restaurants, bars and clubs, yet somehow still peaceful and quiet inside. You’re only a 15 minute cab from the port if you want to do excursions. The staff is diligent, kind and friendly. We were a group of 10 renting the whole space, but even if you’re renting just a room, every suite is its own private getaway and the common area with pool is stunning and spacious. It feels like being transported to an oasis. For anyone trying to visit Cartagena, look no further, this is where to stay. Candil de los Santos is a beautiful oasis in the heart of the historic walled city of Cartagena. This house breathes history and tranquility from the minute you walk through the heavy wooden, ornamented door. The facade hides the lovely central courtyard, open to the sky, with fragrant flowering trees and palms. The pool invites you to drop your bags and get in. The rooms are high ceilinged and quiet. Wow- we absolutely loved our time in Columbia and with Roberto and Berta! This is my second trip to Cartagena and Roberto is the first person I call to find one of his homes. This home in particular is in the heart of the walled city- close to the grocery, delicious restaurants and within walking distance to really anything you might need. Roberto is incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating to all of our requests- whether it is scuba diving, booking the hottest restaurants or finding us a contact to meet the villagers of Wayuu.
