Golden Valley Hotel — Hotel in Medellín

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel in Medellín. When I booked through a third-party website, I selected a reservation for three people, but due to what seemed to be a website error, the reservation showed up as two people instead. I explained this to the front desk and told them I was willing to pay any necessary upcharge, but that I simply needed a room for three guests.

They told me they would “look into it,” so I waited. I made it very clear multiple times that I had a tour scheduled at 2 PM and couldn’t be late. After sitting in the lobby for 45 minutes, I asked again for an update, only to be told they had no options for me because my reservation was “wrong.” It quickly became clear that they hadn’t been working on a solution at all.

What was especially frustrating was seeing another couple with the exact same issue check in right after us—they were accommodated without an upcharge, while we were turned away. On top of that, the staff’s unprofessional attitude—eye rolls and dismissive responses—only made the experience worse.

This hotel is the most underrated place in the area. The room was amazing-very modern, clean, and beautifully decorated. The staff was super friendly and always ready to help with anything I needed during my stay. The rooftop is stunning, with an incredible view and great drinks. The location is also perfect. Everything is really close, so I didn't need to travel far for anything. Another thing I loved was how safe it felt.
