I made some unforgettable memories at Nido Sky. I was very skeptical about the hotel and the location of the hotel vs. the area I was in during my first trip to Medellin. A lot of graffiti art on buildings and walls in the area of the hotel, but not the hotel itself. Initially, the area did not give me the same comfort level of feeling "safe" as I did when I was closer to Carrera 37 - 40 area. The hotel also looked dated on the outside at best. I actually had my driver wait for me while I went on the inside to check the place out before I made a final decision to stay. Here is where the story changes. Upon entering the hotel, I was greeted by a single employee working the "front desk." The setup is not typical of modern hotels, but the level of customer service was comparative to that of some of the finest hotels. Upon my request, Lizzy took me to view my room so that I could see the accommodations first-hand. Upon entering the space, I will say that the pictures online were incredibly accurate to the actual room. I would be in Medellin for 7 days and 6 nights, and I was looking for a place that was spacious and comfortable. I did not want to be cooped up in a small hotel room and have to leave my room frequently because of feeling claustrophobia. This space feels more like a 1 bedroom studio type apartment in the US. For anyone familiar with the revitalization of historic buildings and factories turning them into apartments and studio living spaces, this is very similar to what you would see in that type of facility. The space was clean, and my biggest dislike was the actual bed itself. Not what I was used to, but I could make it work. Again, I am in Colombia and not America. So let's do this! After I checked in and got situated in the room, it really began to grow on me. The ability to have separate spaces, one for sleeping and another for relaxing and entertaining, turned out to be a huge plus! The lighting throughout the entire apartment could be adjusted in all of the spaces to be able to set a mood or ambiance that was cozy and romantic. I highly suggest bringing a Blu-tooth speaker! (Thank me later!) The space was more than accommodating to engage friends or visitors. The washer and dryer in the room turned out to be very useful as well. There is a rooftop jacuzzi and pool that are open 24 hours a day, but there is something about how those pools are situated on the roof that causes me anxiety about getting in them. (That's a conversation for another time. Lol) But they were available and clean. There is a workout room, but it is small. Serves its purpose though. There is a restaurant next door, and they provide room service. But know that you have to pay upon delivery because they are not associated with the hotel and can not bill the room. The food was surprisingly good! And the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating for both facilities. Cleaning service is available but for 6 nights I was only allowed 1 "free" cleaning that was included. Additional cleanings are available but it costs a nominal fee for each additional day, which is not bad if you do not want to do it yourself. Personally, I am OCD about my space and I cleaned and changed sheets myself. All you had to do was take the dirty linen and towels to the front desk and they would give you whatever you needed. Overall, my stay was beyond amazing. The hotel does allow guests, and the guests are only required to have a physical ID to make copies and check in. Unlike some other places that require additional documentation. I will not go into specifics here, but if you have experienced this you know exactly what I mean. It is for both the safety of the hotel and their guests. And on that note, I had a visitor that I checked in, and departed without me escorting them out. The front desk immediately called my room to check to make sure I was ok. That was a huge plus in my book! I could go on and on about the good, the bad and the ugly but overall I had an amazing experience and stay! Tell Lizzy I said hi!

Do not stay here. The building requires significant repairs before it is suitable to host guests. It has clearly seen better days since the good reviews that led us to booking our stay. We were initially impressed by the architectural features and interior decor, but were soon very disappointed. On two nights we were awoken by freezing water leaking through the ceiling onto our faces. In another instance, our feet were cut multiple times by broken tiles in the rooftop pool. The toilet seat was so flimsy that it completely cracked with regular use, rendering it unusable. Upon informing the hotel staff of the structural issues, they failed to make any necessary repairs, accused us of lying, and did not offer any compensation for our lost nights of rest due to the leak. During 3 days of our stay, the rooftop gym and pool area were entirely occupied by workers and littered with construction supplies and bags of dirt—rendering these amenities unusable. Again, the hotel staff offered no solution. On top of these problems, the surrounding area is currently undergoing significant construction on all sides of the building and there is zero sound insulation, so be prepared to experience extremely loud drilling and construction noise every day Monday to Saturday 7am-6pm, sometimes even at night, on top of the already loud traffic noise. In short, book your stay in Medellin somewhere else, at least until the hotel is able to address these serious issues and until the surrounding deafening construction is finished.

Staying at Justin's place that is called Nido Sky was very pleasant. Check-in was very smooth and lobby staffs - especially Manuela - were very helpful. The place was bigger than I have expected and elevators were connected to the room directly with keycards. The property was clean and well maintained and the smart TVs were connected to Netflix - WiFi signal was strong and speed was okay (more than 30MB I recall.) The kitchen was clean and laundry machine dryer was brand new. Kitchen utensils were bit worn, though. The terrace side (far from the bed) was covered with wood plates and the noise was coming in along with some wind. It wasn't too cold but Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights were pretty noisy. (Nido Sky provided earplugs for this :) ) The location was pretty convenient - close to shops, restaurants. I really enjoyed the stay and will consider staying at Nido Sky for my next trip to Medellin.

BOOK IT NOW! DETAILED REVIEW. THE LOCATION Nido Sky is conveniently located in the Pablano area just a couple blocks away from Pablano Park which is an excellent location to be in. What makes the location particularly outstanding is the fact that you are so close to countless restaurants for indoor and outdoor eating, all of which have bars

There is entertainment everywhere and there are really nice rooftop options where you can enjoy the incredible views as well. There are more rooftop places to enjoy close to this hotel than you can shake a stick at. From 1 to 9 minutes walking in several directions, you will find more options dining, partying, enjoying coffee outside, enjoying a peaceful outside eating and people watching experience, and interesting places to simply walk around and see the culture than you will be able to experience during your stay. And it's all right near Nido Sky.

Also, because of the hotel's proximity to Calle 10, Lleras Park, Provinza and the main route that will take you to the Sante Fe mall, they are all very walkable with the longest (and best) walk being to the Sante Fe mall which wound up being my favorite mall of the three that I went to but they were all surprisingly incredible.

Nido Sky nailed it location wise because it’s not on a “main strip” of any kind with heavy traffic but just off of a side street with its own set of places to enjoy and yet in the middle of and close to everything.

THE CHECK IN EXPERIENCE & FRONT DESK STAFF The check in experience is VERY QUICK and seamless. The team is warm, very friendly, helpful and the process is quick and painless. Because it’s not a “regular hotel” with hundreds or scores of guests, you get a very VIP and personalized service as if you went to a hotel and were receiving their “concierge level” entrance and accommodations.

Had a long flight and want to get to your room quickly? Nido Sky will get you to your room and completely set up in record time. Don’t know where to get your morning coffee between several places? Which mall and how to get there? Where to walk and what to do? The front desk staff knows EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW about how to have a great experience in Medellin and will happily provide you anything and everything you need to have a fun and carefree vacation. Liz and Alejandro in particular are the best of the best in customer service, but everyone is extremely accommodating and can help.

ROOMS Once you get off of the elevator and WALK DIRECTLY INTO YOUR ROOM you know you’ve arrived at the right place!

The rooms are absolutely beautiful with the same trendy modern layout. The expensively styled concrete and brick look, the accents, the balcony with great views, the sliding doors and the color scheme will help you to immediately realize that you booked the right place.

SECURITY There’s one way in and one way out. And remember, because it’s not congested like other hotels, you’re never made to wait for the elevator like conventional hotels. I don’t think I waited more than a minute for the elevator my entire time there.

There is someone always at the front desk. Additionally, from a security standpoint, due to the fact that the ONLY WAY that you can get to your room is with the key, coded specifically for your room (floor), it would be impossible for anyone to get upstairs anyway. The elevator won’t move without the key card and again, there isn’t a “generic card” to make the elevator move. It only moves according to your room designation which is primo.

In the end, this is THE PLACE to be. When you look at the location, the size of the rooms, the cleanliness, the pricepoint, the privacy, the convenience, the customer service from Liz and the team, the no hassle, no fuss, no muss check in, check out and overall experience, the cool vibe and again, the location, location, location……It’s going to be Nido or nothing for me.

So, if you want a really nice place to stay for your Columbia trip then its Nido Sky...

Nido Sky is in the Manilla neighborhood in El Pablado. It is walking distance to many bars and restaurants, as well as the essentials at shops. There is a currency exchange on block over.||The hotel is ultra-modern/industrial. The apartment is serviced by an elevator directly to the apartment that is only usable by one tenant at a time. There is a small pool and really hot hot tub on the roof 24/7. The apartment was extremely comfortable and large. The Turkish bath is awesome and view are great.||You are in a lively area, so expect some noise. It did not bother us and we slept extremely well. The hotel is one of those that you do not want to leave.||Service was great and there is a first floor bar that delivers food to the rooms. We did not use the service because we cooked our meals for the most part, as the Exito is a short Uber ride away.||The Staff at the front desk is awesome and bilingual in english/Spanish. Their guests policy is liberal with registration and they welcome your friends and family to visit.||Presently, there is construction across the street on a building, but it didn't both us.||If you are one of those travelers that expects to reside in a sound proof hermetically sealed bubble, this is not the place for you. If you are a traveler that likes to enjoy a great view, comfortable apartment, and easy access to social events and happenings, this hotel is perfectly located. Having stayed in much more sterile areas of El Pablado, this location and accommodation was...
