Luum Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Medellín

They try their best and people working there are nice, but this is not a boutique experience, it's actually closer to a glorified hostel. The rooms are small. It's noisy from the traffic at nights, and you can also hear the music during the weekend. The windows look nice, but they don't fully close, so they are useless to soundproof the room. Which is really unfortunate, because the street is relatively quiet with no so much traffic.

But there is also a lot of noise from within the "hotel", you can hear people in the hall and other rooms.

The room was generally clean, but we saw a cockroach on the tub the first day. I guess that's what happens when you put a frigging tub in the middle of the room. We didn't see any other bugs during our stay, and the rooms were indeed clean.

We were also travelling with a 4 year old, and assumed they would provide a second bed/sofa, alas, they told us that the bed was big and it could fit 3. While the bed was indeed quite large, we would have welcomed having that information ahead of time.

Pros: The AC works great, the room does look very nice and the people working there are very nice. Good location.

Cons: Small rooms, noisy from the outside and the inside. It's hard to rest properly.

Takeaway: There are better options at the current price point.

Escribo esta reseña sin haber podido quedarme en el hotel, así que solamente está basada en mi experiencia con su servicio al cliente A mi se me presentó una emergencia médica y tuve que cambiar todo mi itinerario. Había reservado este hotel con millas, y cuando me comuniqué con United, me dijeron que tenia que comunicarme con el hotel. Intenté comunicarme con ellos por email y google maps, y a pesar de que vieron el mensaje en google maps del mismo día, no me contestaron y solo se comunicaron conmigo el día de la reserva para confirmar mi llegada. Cuando me escribieron y les expliqué la situación, me escribieron decenas de WhatsApps recriminándome que porque no me comuniqué con ellos por teléfono o por WhatsApp. Me dijeron cosas como que si no sabía usar WhatsApp, que si no sabía cómo cambiar la reserva por la página. Por favor! Yo vivo en hoteles 15 días al mes. En resumen, a pesar de que también me iba a quedar en un hotel de cadena internacional, yo quería experimentar un hotel local en Colombia, pero la experiencia recibida antes de pisar el hotel, fue suficiente para cambiar de parecer. Es la primera vez en mis 19 años viajando por el mundo, que recibo un trato con tanta prepotencia, en el cual solo intentaban justificarse y culparme a mi por no usar los medios de comunicación que ellos prefieren. El hotel ofreció cancelar la reserva, pero soy consciente de que al menos la primera noche no pudieron revender esa habitación, así que me negué, y los dejé que cobraran...

Es war wirklich furchtbar. Ich habe selten so schlecht geschlafen. Erstmal konnte niemand English als wir angekommen sind. Wie es mit dem gebuchten Frühstück aussieht, konnte uns auch niemand erklären wegen der Sprache. Und alle Zimmer sind extrem klein, sehr niedrige Decken und das Bett ist nicht länger als 1,70/1,80. Von außen sieht alles nett aus, aber bei näherem Hinsehen war alles alt, dreckig, kaputt und oll. Die Zimmer sind extrem hellhörig und ab 5 Uhr waren irgendwelche Leute am Arbeiten im Hotel, die sich extrem laut unterhielten und generell laut waren. Wenn es regnet, hört es sich an, als würden Granaten einschlagen, da kann man echt nicht schlafen. Man hört einfach alles. Man fühlt sich wie im Käfig, es ist sehr eng, niedrig. Das Bad hat keine Lüftung, die Duschkabine war offen, man konnte sie nicht schließen und man flutete die ganze Toilette. Alles war klitsch nass. Wahnsinn, dass da noch kein Schimmel war. Und als wir gesagt haben, dass wir dort nicht mehr schlafen wollen, haben sie sich nicht mal entschuldigt und uns das Geld in Bar zurück gegeben, damit wir auf Booking keine Rezension mehr hinterlassen können. Irgendwie positiv, aber auch auffällig. Ich würde niemandem empfehlen, dort...
