Hotel Boutique El Cactus — Hotel in Santa Marta

My husband and I stayed here in the Presidential Suite for 3 weeks on our first visit to Colombia in May/June 2022. I was impressed with the room, light and airy and a very comfortable bed with good pillows too so a very good sleep and it is all kept spotlessly clean by the hotel cleaning team.||I think what makes this hotel special are the staff and the really exemplary level of service, inside it feels like a little oasis of calm and its refreshing to find such enthusiastic and helpful attitudes from every single member of staff. ||Our package included a continental breakfast which was amazing, every morning a smiling girl would deliver to our room a fresh fruit plate, yoghurt with cereal and a choice of hot food including local dishes as well as eggs any way you like or pancakes with bacon. I recommend the Colombian Cayeye and Arepas which are delicious. You can choose to eat on the terrace outside or inside your room.||The hotel itself is in a great location for exploring the town and surrounding area, it is not quiet in Santa Marta and there is always noise outside the hotel but inside the room it is sound proofed and very quiet.||A huge Thank You to all the hotel staff for a brilliant stay, five...

I could not recommend this place enough! We loved this stay in Santa Marta. We were welcomed with refreshing drinks as we waited to be checked in. This was our last stop in Colombia & I couldn’t imagine a better stay. Walking distance from all the shops, restaurants & nightlife. The room is very spacious with a full kitchen, modern bathroom, large bedroom & living area. There’s blasting AC & hot water to shower. Mini shower gels & shampoo is provided. Our favorite part were the pools. There’s one on the main floor that’s perfect for swimming & one on the rooftop for lounging/sunbathing. There’s also sitting areas by both pools. We practically had the pools all to ourselves. The staff is very kind & welcoming. Helpful in so many ways as you can whatsapp them any comments or questions. Laundry services are available for an additional 20,000 COP. We didn’t use the service but it did seem helpful. The front entrance is gated & can only be opened with your key card & theres a lot of cameras/surveillance around the facility so we felt very safe & secure. This was one of the best hotels we have experienced so far! The rooms are huge, the beds are comfortable, great showers. You can do your laundry easily there, the breakfast at the beautiful terrace was very nice. We arrived very early and spent hours at the pool on the rooftop (there is another bigger one on ground floor) and enjoyed a relaxing day in the sun before we checked in. Besides all that the best and most important fact about the hotel is the outstanding hospitality!! We felt welcome from the first minute, everyone was super kind and helped wherever they could (transport, great recommendations for restaurants, tours, sights, breakfast packages to go when we had to leave very early). Everyone speaks english very well. The locations is perfect, only a couple of minutes walking distance to the main downtown area but not noisy at all, a big supermarket close by.
