Hotel Ribai — Hotel in Santa Marta

The room was clean, had a writing desk and hanging space for clothes. TV and wifi. Shower water was cold but when requested was fixed with hot water. |Breakfast was included. I am not a spanish speaker but use google translate and my broken spanish sentences. The girl didn't speak any English and that's OK but she treated me like I was a foreigner walk in that she wanted nothing to do with. I asked for the menu. She said there wasn't one. She told me thru translate eggs 3 ways that's it. I asked for fruits juice and toast available only because I saw others had this. That night I went to reception to ask if menu they said yes. As I was staying a few days and doing day tours I wanted to enjoy a breakfast before leaving. Next morning with her sour attitude she again approached and spoke in spanish. This time annoyed I said you know I don't speak spanish and I'm not doing this again. A guy Came and told me options change each day. I explained I didn't get the options I saw of others and only got what she offered and the fruit I saw. I ended up with same breakfast. For this reason I cannot recommend this hotel. They need a menu. Then you know what's available. I can read spanish better than I speak. Relying on a sour unfriendly and unhelpful girl is not an option I choose. For this I don't recommend as...

Room tight with a pillar that became a trip hazard so tight with bed. No space. TV and wifi work. Room no hot water but they fixed. Bathroom clean and Room. Place to hang clothes and desk. But small,tight. Staff arrogant, and disinterested in helping English speaking traveller. I have been travelling for 3 months in 2,3 star hotels and had better service and treatment from them. These people clearly don't like foreigners who can't speak their language. I try with broken sentences. I'm retired and admit no matter how hard I try my language skills bad but I'm not rude! They were clearly happy to talk to native speakers. Bad experience there I DONT recommend unless good spanish then they will put up with you. Breakfast no menu even in spanish when I told the lady my spanish little she just stared at me and kept speaking in rapid spanish. I used Google translate but that didn't change her attitude. I got breakfast but not what I could see others were getting. It was included in booking. Bad experience for four days. I had been looking forward to a better class didn't happen. Andy was their saving grace. Receptionist who was great, friendly and helpful to me. Without her the would have been 1 star...

Location was good, and that is it!||The staff is very unprofessional and purely trained. We had an issue with laundry service. They were late with delivery, so I went to check with the reception. They spoke no English and my Spanish is terrible, so it was easier for me to talk to them face to face. They didn't have an idea where my clothes were as they didn't label it properly. So at the end, we had a security guy in the laundry room, showing piece by piece to the security camera. And I was on the reception, saying Si and No. We also had 2 reception girls giggling like crazy. Then, the manager came, furious because off the situation. She wasn't happy how the staff was dealing with the situation. So, she took me to the laundry room, packed my things and sincerely apologised and din't charged me for the service as the part of the apology. She was super professional and I hope she will manage to bring some order to that place. ||||Rooms are quite old and way less shining and sparkling then on photos. And we had a terrible neighbours (very loud and noisy) and walls are too thin. We can hear them like they were in our room.||||Internet was terrible on the 4th floor. ...
