Hostal Maranatha — Hotel in Santa Marta

Good communication pre arrival via Google translate. I asked staff to help me arrange food maybe using food dekivery application upon arrival as would be late, don't speak/read Spanish and restaurants closed.||Arrived 10pm after all day on bus. Check in was with seeming rude and impatient man that didn't help.The room was not at all like the one booked via booking.com. Walls dirty, poor dirty fan, sparse bedding, poor pillow, parts of bathroom looking unfinished tiling wise, shower had no hot water and pressure was like slow dripping garden hose. La habitación que tenía separada olía tremendamente a humedad, tuve que cambiarla, la nueva habitación no tenía una sola ventana, habían demasiados zancudos. No hacen aseo en la habitación, esto lo advierten en la recepción. La habitación la reservé por Booking y allí decía que el checkout es a las 3 pero cuando uno ingresa le hacen firmar un formulario en dónde dice que el check out es al medio día. En uno de los días de mi hospedaje eran las 4am y la puerta principal estaba cerrada con llave y no hubo nadie que abriera hasta después de las 6+30. La cuadra en dónde se encuentra el hotel no es muy agradable, se ven varios indigentes y personas drogándose. Dentro del mismo hotel sugerían no llegar después de las 10 a pie a menos que fueran grupos grandes o tomar taxi. La ubicación es muy central, queda a media cuadra de una de las avenidas principales y a tres cuadras de otra, por lo que es fácil ubicar transporte que lleva a cualquier otro lugar turístico.
