Olinca Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Cahuita

Travel agents, don't book! 👇 I am deeply disappointed in the way our recent booking at this hotel was mishandled. We had reserved a room there a few months in advance and even received a confirmation from the hotel. However, a few weeks later, we were informed via email that the pool was broken, for which they apologized.

Just one day before our flight, we were shocked to learn that the hotel was closed for repairs. The most frustrating part was the hotel's claim that they had informed us about the closure previously - a blatant lie. Moreover, they allegedly tried to contact our travel agent using the information they had, claiming that they had already informed us about the closure. This misinformation is unacceptable.

Furthermore, when our travel agent had contacted the hotel earlier to inquire about adding another person to the room and even asked about the possibility of adding an extra bed, which we were told was not feasible due to the room size. We had multiple email exchanges discussing these details, so it is clear that the hotel was aware of our booking specifics.

To make matters worse, instead of handling the situation professionally, the hotel lied to the Expedia representative, claiming that they had informed both us and our travel agent about the closure and its implications. This lack of transparency and deceitful behavior towards guests is simply unacceptable.

With such poor customer service and dishonest practices, this hotel does not deserve a positive review. I urge my fellow travel agents to steer clear of booking with this establishment. Trust and transparency are paramount in the hospitality industry, and this hotel has failed miserably in upholding...

The hotel is a catfish sort of. It's nice but not as nice as it looks in the photos online. The beds are super small for one and there is only one mirror in the entire apartment, which is in the bathroom vanity. There is more than enough room in the apartment to add a full length mirror.

The bathroom is pretty nice and big and the apartment is spacious with a living area and two bedrooms. There is a living area with a nice size kitchen and dining table and chairs. And the porch was a nice touch. The beds were comfortable, although like I said, just too small. A taller than average or even bigger sized person would not have been able to fit comfortably in the beds. It's a nice enough hotel and the pool and grounds are beautifully kept but they could improve in a lot of areas.

The breakfast was not the best. They ran out of food, brought out dirty plates and the food was just ok. They just seemed unprepared for the amount of people they had. I don't think the price of including breakfast was worth. We skipped the breakfast on our second morning. The best part about the hotel was the location. It's right in town, on a quiet side street and central to everything. We parked and walked to restaurants and shops. Just beware that the parking area is small.

Another positive is the staff. The staff is very helpful and super nice and the welcome drinks as we checked in were a nice addition.

All in all, not a bad place but kinda pricey...

Unser Aufenthalt im Olinca Hotel in Costa Rica war absolut traumhaft! Dies lag zum einen an der wunderschönen Anlage mit Pool, Garten und der Nähe zum Strand, aber zum anderen ganz besonders an der unglaublichen Gastfreundschaft von Christina und ihrem Team.

Christina ist eine absolute Ausnahme-Gastgeberin. Sie ist stets bemüht, den Wünschen ihrer Gäste zu erfüllen, und geht dabei mit so viel Liebe und Herzlichkeit vor, dass man sich sofort willkommen und wertgeschätzt fühlt. Sie koordiniert ihr Team mit Bravour, so dass alles reibungslos funktioniert und man sich rundum wohlfühlt.

Wir haben uns im Olinca Hotel wie zu Hause gefühlt und können Christina und ihr Team nur wärmstens empfehlen. Sie sind die perfekten Gastgeber und machen jeden Aufenthalt zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis.

Our stay at the Olinca Hotel in Costa Rica was absolutely amazing! This was due on the one hand to the beautiful complex with pool, garden and proximity to the beach, but on the other hand especially to the incredible hospitality of Christina and her team.

Christina is an absolute exceptional host. She is always striving to fulfill the wishes of her guests, and does so with so much love and cordiality that you immediately feel welcome and valued. She coordinates her team with bravura, so that everything runs smoothly and you feel completely comfortable.

We felt at home at the Olinca Hotel and can only warmly recommend Christina and her team. They are the perfect hosts and make every stay an unforgettable experience.
