4.5/5!
This was a wonderful hotel. My husband and I stayed for two nights for one of our stretches for our honeymoon in Costa Rica. When we arrived, the employee was very kind and she accommodated our early arrival/check-in. They were super responsive on WhatsApp, so they knew we were arriving early.
When we got to our room, she walked us through everything and even helped me out when I annoyingly locked us out. Staff was definitely great!
Our room was mostly clean. Everything was very modern and I loved the towel swans housekeeping left for us. The view was the best part with a completely unobstructed view of the volcano.
The only reason I’m taking away half a star is the little things such as the coffee machine still had the old filter in it. There were termites in our room at night and they would fall onto our bed. Read moreWe had a very pleasant stay at Fortuna Retreat. The rooms (B3 and A3) were well-designed, clean, and comfortable. The shower had good water pressure, and all amenities were thoughtfully taken care of. The garden and pool were well-maintained, offering a nice space to relax.
The location of the retreat was convenient, with stunning views and a secure property. Parking was easy, and the personalised key provided at check-in was a nice touch. It was also easy to find nearby dining options, including a restaurant right next to the retreat.
During our stay, we visited the North Fields Coffee Tour, which was a fascinating experience with plenty of interesting information about coffee and chocolate production.
The staff were welcoming and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed. On our last day, we wanted to check out early, around 6:30 a.m., as we had a long drive ahead to Manuel Antonio. The staff accommodated this effortlessly, making the process smooth and convenient.
Considering the quality of the stay, we were pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was compared to other hotels in the area. Fortuna Retreat truly offers great value for money, and we highly recommend...
Read moreFortuna Retreat is a brand new hotel, with beautiful design of rooms and garden. Rooms are very clean, personnel are very friendly and while you are inside, you will have great view of Volcano (neighborhood outside the hotel doesn't look great thought). |Hotel is 9 min drive from downtown, nothing in walking distance around.|Hotel is reasonably priced and I would recommend it and it to other guests.||How can it improve:|There is no 24/7 reception, reception leaves by 6 pm, if any help is needed after that, you can't find anyone.|There is no dining option inside the hotel ( breakfast is served at an oasis which is 5 min walking distance. Quality of breakfast is very good with beautiful birds view ,however being out of premises could be inconvenient for some guests.|As there is no dining option inside hotel, it would be nice to have microwave added to the rooms ( or even common area), so if we order food from outside, we can warm it up. |There is no laundry option at hotel, if they add a paid washer /dryer, that would be...
