Pizzería La Cava — Restaurant in La Fortuna

Disappointed with the customer service . I have eaten at this place many times and the pizza is amazing. Arguably the best pizza place in la fortuna. I am a regular customer since few months now. Today when I went to dine with few friends , there was no table available. So we waited there for 5 mins and no one approached us . I went up to the person and told them we were waiting and he said to wait for few more minutes . After waiting for 15 mins another group arrived and they waited for couple of minutes behind us and then one of the waiter cleared a space and got them a table. Which is quite weird cause we had been waiting for almost 20 mins . I assume they had a reservation . I am not sure . However, they never bothered to attend to us or even let us know why they’re giving the table to the people who came much after us. Just an acknowledgment would’ve sufficed. It was very disappointing. We left the place. Bad customer service. I always drive 40 mins to get to this place to eat pizza and recommend my friends who visit la fortuna to try the place . I personally have taken at least 25 friends to this place in the last three months. Not anymore. They don’t value...

Service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. The food is superb, we were recommended by a trusted local as “best pizza in the area” when in fact it’s much more than that. My daughter had a pizza and they are lovely wood fired oven cooked so superb. There is also extensive choices across steaks, fish, pork’s, numerous salads. Portions are plentiful and all the food is cooked fresh to order. The wines were very nice also, we tried both red and white and the house was more than palatable. Overall I would highly recommend. For dinner it was quiet around 6.30 but filled up from 7.30 so if you want to go in a group after 7.30/8 I would consider booking in advance as it was completely full by the time we left. Additionally, our younger daughter can sometimes be a fussy eater and want plain food and the restaurant were very happy to accommodate with a plain burger minus the usual toppings. Where can I give 10 stars to Service? Wow. The lady who assist us during the night was an absolutely warm person. Kristal I believe. I could notice that she really enjoyed what she did, no fake intentions, she was just like that. She was always supportive. The food was tasty, great pizza, great flavor. The amount of pineapple on the pizza? Bondadosos! The place was lovely, spacious and clean. I believe the prices were good for the service and food itself. Ohhhh! And the mango smoothie 😱🤤😮‍💨 truly a gem. No extra nasty sugar, but truly a balance of flavor. Bravo! And another Ohh!
