The steak & shrimp were EXCELLENT but the mashed potatoes were cool. The waiter tried real hard (overly hard) to get us to buy one of the specials, a bit too pushy. The biggest issue is that we paid for our tour driver's food but when we asked him if he had paid for his meal he said YES! He looked confused. He went back in & chatted with the personnel for about 30 seconds without exchanging anything??? We felt something was funny by the way he was acting but the bottom line is we paid for his meal which he said he had paid for too! WE WERE SCREWED! After thinking about it we really believe that our driver, Wilson, may have had an arrangement with them to bring clients to the restaurant & he would get a free meal. We don't have a big problem with THAT ALONE but he really should have disclosed that & the restaurant should not have charged us! We wrote a review while in CR but do not see it? The restaurant responded but they simply said they did not charge Wilson for his meal but his response to us asking him about it said something different. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EATING...
Read moreSo the food was good. 3 stars because of the service and customer service are awful and it was too expensive. We ate there today but the story starts two days ago. We arrived at 7:30 (they close at 9 PM) and they told us they could not see us because they were out of gas (what? But okay) The reviews were good and our Airbnb host told us to try it since we are not going to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica so we went today. We ordered ceviche, coconut milk soup and the Caribbean style lobster. Ceviche and coconut milk seafood were delicious. We waited about 10-15 minutes and called over the waiter (who hadn’t checked on us since ordering 40 minutes ago) and said how long till the lobster and he was shocked and said takes 10 Minutes to cool, I said no, I ordered it and even asked you if it was easy to eat? Oh I’m sorry he said but I promised my wife some lobster, soooo we reordered. Was good. It was quite expensive compared to other places. 54$ but other places we paid less than 30. All in all, try...
Read moreMy family and I stopped here when we were in La Fortuna and I've got to say, the food was DELICIOUS!!! Our favorite was the rice with seafood. It came with crab, calamari, shrimp and mussels. We all loved it. The arroz con Pollo was also a big hit. The chicken tenders were extremely tender and not salty at all. They were perfectly crispy and the best tenders I had. I only didn't like the taste of the Rasta pasta but it could be just preference. The restaurant also had habañero hot sauce as well as Carolina Reaper hot sauce on the tables to add to the food. We loved the flavors so much and it was wonderfully spicy. Lastly, the Piña Colada and the Mojito both tasted great. We enjoyed the taste of both and it helps having the Colada in case you try the sauces. The environment had very unique and fun decorations so you will definitely enjoy the food and the ambiance. This restaurant was a wonderful stop for us and would highly recommend to anyone in the area of...
