Restaurante Shiitake Fortuna — Restaurant in La Fortuna

We had a party of 6 people and ate a variety of dishes here. We were a mix of Asian people (Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc) and excited to try a fusion restaurant. The servers were very pleasant and nice.

Unfortunately the food was very bad across all of our dishes. I had the Pad Krapow, for which they used possibly a teriyaki sauce(?) which was very salty and I could not finish most of my food. My friend had the seafood sambal and it was definitely the worst of them all. The other dishes we tried were the bulgogi, Mongolian beef, kung pao chicken, and the Thai curry. We all did not enjoy our dishes and could not finish them due to the taste.

We are at the leg of our trip where we were craving Asian food lol. This is a great spot for people who have food restrictions, everything is gluten free, vegetarian dishes, and it tastes AMAZING.

We ordered the cha gio (eggrolls), Korean wings, and the shrimp pad thai. For two people, The portions of the appetizers were SO GENEROUS, I wish we had that portion size in the States. The seasoning of the wings were good, but I wouldn’t recommend for people who have a low spice tolerance. The cha gio was the best one, it was perfect!
