Arenal Panda Containers — Hotel in La Fortuna

This place was absolutely amazing! It’s cozy, super cute and beautifully decorated. Plenty of AC, hot water and great wi-fi. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, this was the best I have slept in any Air B&B so far on my travels. It’s also exceptionally clean. I am a solo female traveler, staying here (12 nights) and walking everywhere was completely safe. Fabio and his family are warm, kind, extraordinarily helpful and attentive. I highly recommend doing the waterfall tour with Fabio! You get to see some of the towns outside of La Fortuna, have a wonderful Brunch and hike through beautiful landscapes. Fabio also provides transportation service to and from the airport if you need it. There is a sheet in the unit with good priced tours if you looking to book something. Soda Tita Rosa is a quick 4 minute walk and a great place to eat if you don’t want to walk further into town. Fabio’s wife makes beautiful jewelry (I bought 2 bracelets) so please ask if that’s something you’re interested in. I am so happy to have found this place and honored to have new familia in Costa Rica! Hopefully, I can come back one day to visit and see the new Panda container! The room is so nice very comfortable and excellent facilities and very modern. Bathroom window looks out over rainforest! Netflix, good shower fridge etc loved it.

Saw Sloths FOR FREE! We were about to pay $50 each but Fabio took us around the back of the Airbnb and showed us a sloth and it was actually close enough to get a good look! Better then a tour I think!

Fabio also said where we would see Tucans (also right next to the room) and they were there! Again FREE.

He also let us come use the pool at the hostel he works at in town with a free pina colada!

Walking distance to the shops and to good restaurants! Recommend Soda la Turnito about 15mins...

Malheureusement, notre expérience dans ce logement a été décevante. Dès notre arrivée, l’hôte s’est montré très suspicieux parce que nous étions accompagnés par un ami au moment du check-in (alors même qu’il ne restait pas dans le logement, mais logeait dans un hostel à proximité). Nous avons bien précisé que le logement était pour deux personnes, et que notre ami n’était là que pour nous accompagner. Malgré cela, l’hôte a insisté de manière désagréable, puis a continué à nous surveiller tout au long du séjour.

À notre retour d’un dîner, alors que notre ami nous raccompagnait simplement jusqu’au logement avant de rentrer à son hostel, l’hôte est intervenu une nouvelle fois, de manière agressive et intrusive, sans vouloir écouter nos explications. Il a affirmé avoir des caméras partout, connaître le propriétaire de l’hostel, et nous a accusés à tort, ce qui a rendu le séjour très inconfortable.

Par ailleurs, la salle de bain ne dispose ni de volet ni de rideau à la fenêtre, ce qui est très problématique, surtout dans un contexte où l’hôte mentionne la présence de caméras partout. Cela ne nous a pas permis d’être sereins, même pour prendre une simple douche.

Je ne recommande pas ce logement si vous cherchez un accueil bienveillant, de la discrétion, ou un minimum de respect et de confiance de la part de l’hôte.
