Our Coffee and Chocolate Tour in Costa Rica was an absolute delight, and it was made even better by our fantastic guide, Rosbi. This tour exceeded all our expectations in terms of both information and experience.

From the moment the tour began, Rosbi's enthusiasm for coffee and chocolate was evident. He guided us through the entire process, from the growing stages on the plantation to the final packaging. His in-depth explanations of the farming process were incredibly informative. We learned about the different varieties of coffee beans and cocoa plants, the cultivation techniques, and the meticulous care that goes into producing high-quality products.

Seeing the plantation and the farming process firsthand was a highlight of the tour. It gave us a deeper appreciation for the hard work and dedication involved in coffee and chocolate production. Rosbi's passion and knowledge made this part of the tour particularly engaging. The tasting sessions were another highlight. We had the opportunity to taste a variety of coffees, each brewed using different methods, and to savor an array of exquisite chocolates as well as chocolate ted-something that was brand new to me! Rosbi guided us through the tasting process, helping us to appreciate the subtle differences in flavor and aroma. For chocolate tasting, we also got to experience tasting cocoa butter, as well as different levels of milk/sugar/chocolate combinations with different toppings such as tajin, salt, caramel, etc. it was truly a unique tasting experience.

The price of the tour was very reasonable, especially considering the wealth of knowledge and the hands-on experiences we gained. It felt like excellent value for money.

Rosbi was a wonderful guide - friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share his passion for coffee and chocolate. He answered all our questions and made sure everyone in the group felt included and engaged,...

The Northfields Coffee Tour was a truly enjoyable and informative experience. Our guide, David, brought the tour to life with his incredible energy, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge. His passion for coffee was unmistakable—possibly fueled by a cup (or three) that morning—but it only added to the lively and engaging atmosphere of the tour.

What stood out most was the farm’s dedication to sustainability and conservation. It was inspiring to see how they work in harmony with nature, protecting the local ecosystem and wildlife. During the tour, we were lucky enough to spot toucans, a majestic great curassow, and the vibrant blue jeans poison dart frog. David’s knowledge about the wildlife made these encounters even more special.

The tastings were a real treat. From coffee to chocolate, we were spoiled with a wide variety of delicious flavours, all made with great care. The abundance and quality ensured we left completely satisfied.

Overall, the mix of education, wildlife encounters, and fantastic tastings made this tour a memorable highlight of our trip. We left with a deeper appreciation for coffee and cacao and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Robèrt Kroonen & Noud...

César was an amazing tour guide..I need to start off with that because his energy just immediately set the tone for the entire tour! We started out with learning about chocolate and had an in depth presentation from plant to finished product of how chocolate is made. Incredibly instructive and helped us understand the products we're consuming and how much work it takes as well. appreciated being educated on the actual cost at each stage of the chocolate making process. We had a little middle part about sugar cane which was absolutely fun and interactive. A Wonderful treat we didn't know we'd have on the tour. The last part of the tour was about coffee and wow... I realized how much did not know about something consume every day. César knew a lot from the barista side as well so everything he shared was so well-rounded and explained thoroughly. I learned things regarding basic coffee history I never knew. The way that North Fields has their tour and stops set up is absolutely perfect. It is streamlined for an experience that you will never forget and help you appreciate and be more mindful of products you...
