It’s a very cute budget hotel run by a family. I highly recommend it!
Parking: Included. During the hours they are there they will assist you in parking and open the gate.
Free breakfast: They have breakfast tickets to some of the local restaurants in the same street. When I researched local restaurants in La Fortuna. One of the best sodas that was rated was Soda La Hormiga, and this hotel gave you a free breakfast from them! Honestly review, from the one week we’ve been in CR, we still dream about that Soda. It was delicious!
Pools: you get free access to 3 different hot springs! We went and experienced them all since we rented a car. An awesome benefit! Don’t forget to ask them for pool towels before you leave!
Bed/Stay: We were concerned about the reviews regarding the beds before coming here. If you normally sleep in a firm mattress bed, honestly it was incredibly comfortable. My significant other sleeps in a mattress with a mattress topper normally, but he found the bed comfortable still. The noise wasn’t very loud unless you’re sensitive to road noise. My significant other is a light sleeper and always carry’s ear plugs just in case. And the location was amazing! We were able to walk everywhere because it was in the heart of La Fortuna. It is such great value for what you get, highly highly recommend. Btw they do have AC. Also someone mentioned about not being hot water, we didn’t have a problem with that. Something else to think about even if it isn’t scorching hot water I can’t imagine wanting to shower in scorching water if it’s really hot and...
Read moreMy wife, son and mother-in-law went to Baldi hot springs and we stayed at Fas. Accommodations were tight but comfy enough for an overnight stay with A/C and breakfast included. Everything would have been fine, except for another guest backing their car into my mother-in-law’s vehicle because of the extremely tight and unorganized parking lot. We agreed to a cash arrangement with the other guests avoiding having to report the incident to our respective insurance companies as the gentlemen were from Sweden. Despite the headache and stress, all was agreed to and taken care of between us. All tolerable, until the groundskeeper decided to poke his nose where it didn’t belong as he barged in to our room as we were packing to check-out and proceeded to scold us about the amount of remuneration we were given by the young men that backed into our car, causing serios cosmetic damage to the rear bumper. He was extremely rude and his comments were not only unnecessary but obnoxious as well. I would not recommend staying at this hotel, as there are many other comparably priced ones in the area. Usually “ticos” are much more polite when treating their guests, but this guy has major issues with how he speaks to people paying his hotel’s higher priced rates... A total jerk and he should be fired for being rude...
Read moreThis place was amazing!! The owner lady was super nice when we got there and then our double-bed room was the homiest room ever. To top it all off, it's in the center of the main hub of La Fortuna. My friend and I chose this place because it was affordable, but we were pleasantly surprised when we realized this was probably the most conveniently placed location we could've asked for. Coffee house, supermarkets, restaurants, and more, were all in just a few minutes walking distance. Also FAS gets you free breakfast at the steakhouse down the block! What made this place even better was that our EasyHop and Viator bookings had the option to pick us up right from FAS. We barely had to do anything to get around to our activities for each day. Some things to help you be super ready for your stay here are: be prepared to be a little confused with the water (cold is labeled hot, and hot is labeled cold). Also, if you're using everything at the same time, the hot water and outlets can stop working (I was taking a long shower and my friend was blasting the AC). But luckily! The staff is super responsive and they come address your needs in a moment's notice. Overall, I would highly...
