La Vid Steak House & Pizza — Restaurant in La Fortuna

This place is great if you like acid reflex and over paying. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

On my first visit, the server was excellent. On my second visit, the bartender was excellent.

However, on both visits, the woman making the pizzas was constantly scowling at me, as if I'd stolen her BF or something. Then, I noticed her whispering about me to other staff— literally putting her hand against her mouth, leaning toward them— while glaring straight at me! Jeez, maybe I really did steal her BF!

The snickering on my second visit became so uncomfortable to my digestion & dining experience that I actually switched seats so my back was to her. I have to say it was a much more beautiful view! 😂 Still I was haunted knowing that she was the one preparing my pizza.

On a positive note, the gentleman playing guitar & singing had a voice like buddaah! What talent! Nonetheless the quickest way to a one star review is to tactlessly disrespect your very patrons without whom you would not have a job nor a restaurant.

As a former fine dining server I'm all about a little gossip to get you through … but keep it in the back of the house. To do otherwise is simply...tasteless ;)

Pizza Ranch next door never...

I recently visited the corner restaurant la Vid Steak house with a group of seven, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. Despite its reputation and high prices, the service and coordination left much to be desired.

We waited 20 minutes just to be acknowledged by our server. Once our orders were placed, the pizza arrived promptly, which was promising. However, the rest of our meals were a different story. The rest of the food took an additional 30 minutes to arrive, which was incredibly frustrating, especially since we were a large group hoping to enjoy our meal together.

By the time the rest of the food arrived, the initial excitement for our meal had dwindled. The steak, which was the highlight of their menu, didn’t justify the steep prices. Considering the long wait and the staggered delivery of our meals, the overall dining experience felt disjointed and disappointing.

For an establishment that charges premium prices, I expected much better service and coordination. I hope they can address these issues in the future, but I won’t be returning...

Craving pizza so we came here. Ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, which was great! And the arugula prosciutto pizza, which was about the quality I'd expect from a gas station. It seemed like it had been sitting out all day, it was tough and rubbery. It was also missing the gorgonzola.

I ordered a fancy sounding cocktail, the Dolce Supresa. It was basically chocolate milk. Way too sweet! It was supposed to contain coffee, but I couldn't taste any. I was going to order a shot of espresso to fix it, but once we had our food and drinks, out waiter never checked up on us once.

We sat there finished and waiting for the check for a good 20 minutes. I kept trying to make eye contact with our server, to no avail.

When we finally did get our check, it was much higher than expected with the mandatory service charge and 13% tax. Definitely not...
