Tayakiry café — Restaurant in La Fortuna

If you don't mind spending a bit more than what you would expect (especially as a local myself), and think the experience is worth spending a little more, go right ahead.

I myself had a croissant and tea and I was not disappointed (kind of), but I do wish for whomever the baker may be, to take more time in the making of them, since what you would expect when cutting a croissant open is the flakey outside but rather light airy inside (at least in my opinion that's how it should be), but in my experience it was rather cake like ok the inside like a standard layered dough not puff pastry

As for my friend's experience I wouldn't like to be the one to tell the tale, but as people with high standards and with their own experience in this ecosystem (call it the confection of baked goods or waitering) it could do better.

It was a nice experience taking into consideration that it's a rather new establishment and they are still finding their footing.

I'd say it again, think about it and if you decide the ambiance is worth the extra money, go, but if you don't, go elsewhere, there's other good...

Loved everything about this cafe! I didn’t really want to stop here because I thought it was only a bakery but was so glad others in my family chose it. The service was excellent, the music was great, the vibe was fun, and I had my favorite breakfast of the trip there. I don’t remember the official name but it was two types of toast (avocado/egg, and a sweet one with a Nutella-like spread (but better), and strawberries, bananas, and chopped nuts. I thought the savory toast was great until I tried the sweet one and it blew my mind! I couldn’t decide which part was the best, the homemade bread or the toppings! This cafe has a brilliant atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming, always willing to help. The wifi here is brilliant and everything not related to the food is honestly very good. Unfortunately, the food isn’t anything special. In fact, what I ordered (pancakes with strawberries and maple syrup) was actually pretty bad. It’s very frustrating because it doesn’t say on the menu that they will add cream and chocolate sauce. There is nothing more annoying than when you are served things that were not included on the menu. They mixed chocolate sauce with maple syrup… that’s just horrible.
