A really bad experience. We feel we were tricked.
After staying two nights at Guest Hotel Raguž, we are sorely disappointed and feel that we were tricked. Let me explain why: 1.- The room was given to us is a single one with a bed for two persons. Too small. We struggle to move inside all the time The only place where the bagage could be opened was on the bed. No space in the room to sit, except the bed. Dificulties to move in the bathroom. If you bend to wash your face over the sink you hit the small hanging furniture in front of you with your head (The bathroom is not widther than 90 centimeters) 2.- No hairdryer in the room. 3.- The shared fridge outside the room cooled not very well. 4.- The old towels were rougher than sandpaper (at least the first day, maybe they forgot to add the softoner) 5.- No Shower Gel, just a bit of hand soap. 6.- Our room was separated from another room by a closed wooden door and a wardrove against it. Due to that, the soundproofing wasn't good at all. You can hear your neighbours everytime (and they can hear you) 7.- No TV (this is the less relevant)
In brief: Our room has nothing to do with the pictures on booking.com. Our stay in this room was unconfortable. We consider that the amount paid (two nights 207 euros) is too expensive for that room and the comodities, equipment and services associated to it.
The only positive word I can say about Guest Hotel Raguž is the kindness and friendliness of the people welcoming us (even they don't know speaking english) I really appreciate the fact that Iván (I think is the name of our host) moved his own car to give us a...
Read moreWe spent one night in this place and had a great stay. The rooms are nice and shared bathroom, very clean. We had a fridge, no AC but we got a fan. There's even 2 turturles walking around. The family is so nice and they made the stay so much better with telling storys and begin so welcoming and friendly. It really is the best way to expereience croatia over all, with the people and their storys and the history, such a friendly and helpful people. We had a hard time finding somewhere to park but they helped us with that. It's about 15 minutes walk to old town and while there, visit the war photo gallery with photos from the croatian war, bosnian war and kosovo war, so important, beautiful and sad. After that the woman who has this place told us storys from the war. We even got to met some nice people who were also staying there. So priceworty and an experience in it...
Read moreThe nice old Lady was very welcoming. She doesn't speak english at all, but you'll find a way to communicate. The room is medium sized and very clean. The interior is very old fashioned but ok for the price. There is no AC but the free Wifi works good. There is a shared Bathroom and a seperate WC. The House is close to the center. There is a Bus-Stop just 2 minutes away and a Supermarket nearby. I don't recommend to come here by car. It is impossible to get a parking space around the apartment. It's only for residents. Otherwise you have to pay 10 Kuna per hour between 6 am and 10 pm. All in all: Dubrovnik isn't that good for visitors with cars. In the centre you have to pay 40 kuna per hour for a parking space. Or you take the public garage for 360 kuna for 24h. So if you really want to come to Dubrovnik by car make sure your Apartment will have...
