Taj Mahal hotel Lero — Restaurant in Dubrovnik

Made a reservation for 9pm. Once we were noticed, we were seated down the end of the restaurant in the courtyard. After 10 minutes the waitress reappeared and took our drinks order, asking what we would like to eat, however we had not been provided the menu. After providing the menu, she returned shortly after with our drinks and quickly walked away as I had asked to order.

Another waiter was resetting a table behind us and had seated a solo diner. I had to ask him if he was available to take our order. His response was quite abrupt as if he did not wish to take our order. When the waitress returned with the entree, we had not been provided cutlery, to even eat our meal.

40 minutes later our main was served to us. Half way through the meal the waiter returned with a steak knife after noticing my partner struggling to cut through the lamb, that was over cooked. When we advised him, he declared we should have spoken about it before eating. Both him and the waitress ignored our table for majority of the night. The solo diner that was sat before we ordered, had eaten, paid and left prior to us even being served.

We waited an additional 20 minutes before I walked up to ask for the bill as he did not return to our table after clearing dishes.

It cost 105 euros, for a main we shared, a cocktail, entree, side salad and two beers, which would have been fine had the staff not ignored us the...

Omg, this place blew. my. mind! I personally had something called Hadzijski Cevap (meat in dark red sauce) , and it tasted sublime. The meat was tender and the overall flavors in the plate were an absolute experience. I'm glad some one on the table ordered bread because soaking the stew sauce in it was a must!

And just when I thought this dish was a lucky one off, I soon come to realize, every dish that was ordered was masterfully prepared and full of satisfying flavor! In my opinion, if you had ordered the chicken plate, it would have been the best chicken you ever had. Maybe you ordered a steak to keep things simple? We'll, that would've been the best steak you ever had! I simply can't deal with how perfect everything that came out of that kitchen was.

I never in my life had the need for this, but I really wanted to meet the people responsible for this extra ordinary experience I just had . But of course I didn't dare to disrupt the magic that was going on back in that kitchen.

Seriously, if you ever make it out to dubrovnik do your soul a favor and visit this place, no matter what!
