Restoran Marko — Restaurant in Grad Stari Grad

My favorite restaurant with excellent pizza and meat specialties. Atmosphere is relaxed and service very good. You will need to make reservations as it is often full. I like that they are open all year long and always have one meal ready to be served so you are to check that first. We came here after some time and still food is delicious. What is also important is that it is working whole day unlike many other restaurants in the city. Do make reservation to get nice tables outside in shade and there is always wind there to help in the summer. Always ask for already prepared dish of the day and this time it was excellent local fish specialty gregada. We also enjoyed meat and fish servings for 2 persons. And we get for dessert on the house very nice semifreddo. Place to go to when in Stari Grad. And quality is still excellent, you may wait little more in busy season but you will get it and it is worth of waiting ... I would recommend fish plate for 2 which is enough for 3 hungry ones with good appetite and chocolate cake with orange was excellent, they had only one left so we ordered 5 spoons and eat is all together with delight. Whenever I have friends I bring them here and for now I did not get any...

Great meal as usual and I went to the bar to pay the lady with black hair. The register showed 2 pasta,ls, strawberry juice and 5 beers. I had only had one beer. After some discussion she removed all beers and told me to pay €10 more than the €32 showing on the register. She also said they don't take cards (I had no problem to pay by card 3 days earlier). THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, you lost a customer and got a 1 star review. I look forward to comments...

It was ok, some said that it's a dinner where locals eat, it's true but they eat pizza there. We had pasta, the pasta itself was boring, the sauce from the Pasta con Frutti di Mare was good, and lot of clams, but the Tagliatelle with shrimps I don't recommend. I think it's good if you want to eat pizza. Service was somehow ok, but a bit more interest from the waitress would have been appreciated. For the 2 dishes with a big bottle of water...
