Was really excited to come and dine at this place due to good reviews and the restaurant left a lot to be desired.
It is located in an interesting place, a narrow street in the old town. Tables are a bit cramped and since it’s on a public walkway, you have someone walking by you all the time. Definitely avoid if you want a bit more intimate experience and you do mind having your conversation heard.
The drinks - cocktails with a completely off ratio and half the portion. Heavily packed with soda and ice. Safe to say we didn’t order more than one.
Then came the starter, an abomination spawned by a teenage cook’s wet dream. Salad tasted really old, and half the plate felt like was from a can and slapped on a plate, especially tomato puree.
Mains looked playful, with weird twists and strange ingredient pairing, which always gets you excited. Unfortunately, that excitement came crashing down with the first bite, worse than Maradona after a game in the 90s. Vegetables are grilled, put in the fridge and then served straight from the fridge, with a few slices of fruit. Why, oh why? Scampi were grilled but not nearly cooked enough. Hard to get the meat out, and when you do, the meat was still soft and slimey because it was undercooked. Shellfish is one type of fish you definitely don’t want undercooked if you don’t want the toilet to be your best friend the next few days.
This whole pleasure costed our group €40-€50 per person. A combination of bad, childish menu, tourist trap drinks, insane prices, and clearly rushed covers so they can turn around as many as they can in one night puts this place on the not approved list. The only folks that will enjoy this place are Americans that spent their whole life honing their tastebuds at Olive Garden and don’t...

Read moreThe atmosphere in the restaurant was really pleasant, and the service was great. The waitress was very kind, served us well, and often checked if everything was okay. We were also satisfied with the starters – we had tomato soup and a shrimp salad. The salad itself was nothing special (lettuce, radicchio, cherry tomatoes, brined cheese), topped with five nicely cooked shrimp. However, for €16, we expected a bit more.
For the main course, we ordered the black cuttlefish risotto with cherry tomatoes and a prawn risotto. The cuttlefish risotto was fine, though the cuttlefish was a bit rubbery. What really disappointed us was the prawn risotto. Instead of prawns, it was topped with the same shrimp we had in the salad. Clearly, the restaurant doesn’t distinguish between prawns and shrimp.
The taste was the biggest letdown. The risotto was extremely bland – all we could taste was parmesan, with a strange aftertaste that we eventually realized came from overcooked carp. There was no prawn flavor at all. The dish cost €27, yet it consisted of four shrimp on top and a parmesan-flavored risotto. It was so unappetizing that we couldn’t even finish it.
When the waitress noticed, we explained that the risotto had no flavor. Her only response was that “some people like this taste, some don’t.” Given that this “specific” taste is clearly not for everyone, it would have been fair to warn us beforehand.
In the end, we paid a lot and left disappointed – my boyfriend even...
