Where to begin. After a day of torrential rain in Zadar, we left the hotel in the evening in search of somewhere to have dinner. As the roads were still wet, people naturally preferred somewhere to sit indoors so most places were busy or full. After walking around for a while we spotted this restaurant. We were shown to a table at the back of the restaurant and this is where the problems begin. The table was filthy which food stains and crumbs and there was no offer to clean it. We ordered drinks - of which mine was an ice cold glass of red wine. We ordered our food, the waiter being polite enough and kindly helping me choose the right pizza. After 30 mins we still had not been brought our food and no bread etc to help the wait, as we had experienced with every single other restaurant we'd been to in Zadar. I asked the waiter where our food was and instead of being understanding and empathetic his first instict was to challenge me that it hasn't been 30mins, which it definitely had been. After about 50 mins I caught the eye of the restaurant owner, in lieu of seeing our server for a while, yet he barely acknowldged me, didnt come over and just pointed rudely at another waiter, just as if we werent worth their time. We finally were brought our food, with a less than heartfelt apology. The side order of fries were undercooked and seemed as if they were from a school dinner - soft and littered with either green or brown chips. The green sea food pasta we ordered was made with poor quality ingredients and the side salad was like one of those free salads you get from an indian takeaway in one of those little plastic bags. The pizza was ok in fairness but still nothing special. When we had finished the waiter appeared quicker than he had been all night and was instant in bringing us the bill. In fairness we were short of options due to the weather (we also didnt have a booking) however we felt compelled to write this in case anyone else finds themselves short for dinner...
Read moreDo not take it lightly when I advise you to stay FAR FAR away from this place. The waiter was friendly but unfortunately that's where the positives end.
My friend had the lasagne (which was microwave reheated and still cold in the middle) & I ordered the grilled chicken with ham and cheese. My chicken fillet came so raw that when I had discreetly told the waiter, he responded with "No" thinking it was a piece of the ham. After further inspection he then apologised and took the plate away, however returned 10 minutes later with the SAME piece of chicken, overcooked and charred. I gave it a good go but unsurprisingly I had completely lost my appetite. At no point was I offered an option of a new plate or meal and only received uncontaminated cutlery at my own request.
When the bill came, we were charged full price making it our worst & also most expensive meal in our 2 months of travel. To top it off, we were met with a "It just happens sometimes". Coming from a family of a small business I can assure you this is not true. I would be totally ashamed and embarrassed to treat customers so unprofessionally in this scenario, and to not extend the apology further in any way is appalling. After having such a lovely day in Zadar, we were really looking forward to dinner and so we were truly disappointed to have this experience ruin...
Read moreThe lady at the entrance is very welcoming and as we head to sit down a waiter tells where we are supposed to sit yet everyone else is choosing there sitting places so we just ignore it and go ahead and sit where we were told cause we are hungry and need to eat …20 minutes later we order food which comes one hour later Rice is not cooked the fries are the worst even a lazy person wouldn’t make such fries for themselves later on as we are eating a waiter’ brings food to the next table and comes and takes the salt pepper and olive oil so fast and starts apologizing when he has already given them to the other table so unprofessional and very bad manners in the service industry what was really annoying was that there were empty tables with the salt and pepper which he could have taken from then goes ahead to gossip about us such uncouth behaviors from a restaurant are really unprofessional!! He could have asked if we were done with the salt and pepper not just taking it Really unprofessional and bad service The food is not even worth it actually! There are better restaurants in Zadar just be patient when finding one cause it aint worth it really to spend your money and you don’t enjoy the food bad service and with such behaviors from waiters you can bet the service...
