Coffee & Cake - Kavana CENTAR — Restaurant in Grad Zadar

A multipurpose café. You can get breakfast here, lunch and coffee with cake. We went for the latter. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating. It's not the cheapest place but certainly not expensive either.

We had an iced coffee a cappuccino. With that we had an orange chocolate cake and a chocolate hazelnut cake. Both of these were very tasty. The coffee was also delicious. The foam of the cappuccino was well foamed and there was even late-art present. The next day we went back for breakfast here. We took an aci boll and granola. The aci was very much red fruit blundered through so the aci flavor was somewhat off. The granola was a little on the small side but filling. I now had a double shot cappuccino which was a good idea.

The staff speak English and are friendly. They we were only two people which for the time we were there was a little low for how busy it was. We did have to wait a while but it was just busy. During our breakfast there were many more workers working so it all went a little faster. During breakfast the place was still full.

The design of the place is okay. It's not super special but it's nice. Outside is more nicely done than inside but it's a more modern place than average in terms of furniture.

Outside there was also music present. There was a playlist on with covers in a jazz blues style.

And cozy place in Zadar to definitely have a coffee...

Ambiance:

Comfortable and cool. The seating was spread out such that no other table was close. You felt far enough removed from others that I never really noticed anyone. Seating was perfect: Comfortable loungers

Cakes: Tried 3 different types - 2 different chocolate cakes and the snickers. All were delicious and distinct. The 2 chocolate cakes were divinity and salivatingly delightful.

Drinks: A good machiato, they had my wife's favorite green tea, freshly squeezed OJ. Standard fare but all done well.

Service: The young lady with long dark hair helped us. She was polite, helpful and though I was terribly indecisive when choosing the type of cake I wanted, showed no signs of annoyance, if anything she found it amusing. Perhaps I'm wrong and she was secretly like "would you JUST hurry the @&#%$ up man!!"

Jests aside, this was a great midday stop. They spoke impeccable English and the place was immaculately kept.

Super slow service. When I was there for the first time, I was surprised when I waited 15 minutes when they brought me a menu. After that, I waited 10 minutes for the waitress to come to order, when I didn't wait, I went to the bar to ask if I could order, to which I was told to wait for the waitress who brought me to place the order. After another 10 minutes, I finally placed my order. During the calculation, it's the same... 20 minutes of waiting for payment. The second time when I was passing by, I thought that I would stop by only for a cold coffee, it should be faster... How wrong I was... again waiting for the waitress for 20 minutes. At the same time, the three waitresses are not busy with anything.. they stand talking to each other, walk slowly, collect one glass at a time from the tables, instead of taking everything away....
