lux Zadar — Hotel in Grad Zadar

Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly host who gave us the keys and explained how to use all of the modern amenities featured in the apartment (Apple TV, Nespreso machine, laundry and washing facilities, broadband WiFi etc.) We also received great information on the best places to go out, eat and sightsee. Getting up to the apartment from the car park (free) was particularly easy due to the installation of an elevator in the building even though it is a beautiful old Austro-Hungarian building with extremely high ceilings featured throughout. The apartment is located in the Old Town 200-300m form all the main attractions Zadar has to offer so once you park your car you really don't need it again until you leave. The apartment is newly renovated and no expense has been spared from the floors to the furniture continuing on to the great technology and amenities featured throughout this huge apartment. The apartment features a big kitchen and dining area ideal for preparing meals but there are also a number of great upper scale restaurants just outside the building (50m) that are ideal for meals and drinks. The adjacent side of apartment is situated along the seaside promenade which is great for a jog or evening stroll. We had an amazing three days in Zadar in this apartment! Pros: nicely decorated, very clean and well located.

Cons: freezing in winter, the studio apartment has an air-conditioning machine but is not enough for the winter months. Feeling constantly cold changed our whole perception about the place.

On a different note there wasn't a toaster and neither forks or knifes, I'm sure that was a mistake but it would have been great to have some.

There is no washing machine/dryer in the studio.

As a summary good for couples but I would not recommend it if you have a baby plus stroller, as you need to take the stairs to be able to use the lift which only works if you go up, can't be...

The apartment was fantastic. Very luxurious, clean and the location could not be better. It is literally in the old town facing the sea. The double glazing is good so there's no noise and the airconditioning was brilliant in the heatwave. Everything you could possibly want is provided and there's even Apple TV. The wifi was good too. Karla, the host was great. She arranged all our tours and airport transfers and everything was perfect. All on time and effortless. I highly recommend this appartment and the studio next door.
