The Park of Queen Jelena Madijevka is the first public City Park of Zadar - today's name is the Park of Queen Jelena Madijevka. It was built while Zadar was still a fortress city, when after dinner it was no longer possible to leave the city. That is why this park has been a kind of balcony of the city for forty years, because it offered a beautiful view of the sea and the environment, and with the mild scent of Mediterranean flora you could enjoy all the organized events in the park. The top of the park is reached by narrow paths. From the top of the park there is a beautiful view of the harbor, and next to the park there is a night club with beautiful light decorations.

Beautiful park next to Five Wells Square. Lots of paths on different heights to wander around. Some benches to sit down and a cafe in the park too. Very pretty place. A number of the plants/shrubs have labels so you can see what they are. The park was founded by Austrian commander Baron Franz Ludwig von Welden in 1829, a passionate botanist and admirer of Dalmatian flora, it was the first public park in Dalmatia. Definitely worth a visit.

This green Island at the edge of historical Old Town peninsula of Zadar is in refreshing contrast to the otherwise also amazing narrow, stoned streets, crowded by tourists in summer, but Stiller maintaining a calm, wonderful mixture of past and present. There's an open-air, light-painted club inside, very tastefully dekorated, great mood and pleasant musical. Highly recommended!

Wide park area with beautiful planted flowers and path walks. There is no entrance fee or fences surrounding the park (just a couple of stones and old walls). The park is perfect for a walk with or without children. Multiple benches are built for a chilling rest. On top of the park there is Cafe / Bar with normal prices and good service.

We really enjoyed the Queen Jelena Madijevka Park. We it is fairly large, with several trails and a stone staircases to access a raised center portion. The park is filled with flowering trees and small areas to explore. The views of the five-wells park adjacent to it and of the city wall and gate are really worth a visit to the park.
