Hotel SOL — Hotel in Općina Bol

It’s probably a nice hotel, at least that’s why I chose it. I paid extra via hotels.com to be able to cancel within two days of planned arrival. I also selected «pay at checkin/at hotel». I booked the room early July for a planned trip arriving on 20 August, five nights which was almost €2000.- To my surprise the hotel took the whole amount after just two days. I was annoyed as I had paid extra to avoid this. Unfortunately we had a death in the family end July which forced me to cancel my booked stay, cancellation date 31 July. I expected professional handling of this and that my Mastercard would be credited the full amount without unnecessary delay. Nothing happened. I had to email them five times and received various excuses and promises every time. «Banks don’t work in August», staff on holiday etc etc. Not until I informed them that I had opened a complaint with Mastercard to get a refund, they seemed to feel a sense of urgency. It took four weeks of my life with constant nagging to get my refund. A serious hotel should not treat guests this way. They should not have deducted the full amount when booking and when cancelled they should have returned the money without delays. This caused me a lot of...

Hotel Sol is a gem in Bol, perfectly located halfway between the famous Zlatni Rat beach and the charming old town – both easily walkable. The convenience of free car parking is a major plus, especially for those exploring more of Brač.||The hotel is quiet, clean, and very comfortable, offering a peaceful retreat after a day by the sea. Breakfast is served under the shade of olive trees on an open-air terrace, with the option of dining indoors with Aircon if preferred. We visited in September so outdoor dining was perfect provided it was shaded. ||The staff are hardworking, attentive, and always ready to help. Special mention goes to the manager, Katarina, whose dedication and long hours are evident in the smooth running of the hotel. Her professionalism and determination left a strong impression. Theodora in reception was also very sweet with lots of useful advice. ||There is also a well-maintained pool on site, though in truth, the stunning beaches nearby make it hard to use anything else.||Overall, Hotel Sol combines excellent location, comfort, and outstanding service. We booked accomodation at the Hotel after a brief visit to Bol earlier in the year as we thought it looked comfortable and it was in a great position. After our stay in September 2025 we were not disappointed and are certain that we made the right decision in choosing this hotel. It ticks all the boxes of location, affordability, comfort, amenities and customer service. The most outstanding features of the Hotel are their staff. Katarina and Arjan provide a wonderful service to their guests in going above and beyond what one would normally expect from Hotel employees. The guests are treated almost like family provided with advice on restaurants, tours, holiday planning and general discussion. The two women treat all guests in the same friendly and caring manner. We did not meet Teodora but I am sure she helps out admirablely with the rest of the team. Being a boutique hotel it is important to provide that added extra care to guests to ensure that their stay is special, Katarina and Arjan certainly did this for us and we will take many lasting memories home to Australia as a result of their...
