Napa Gem Suites by Luxel Villas — Hotel in Ayia Napa

Good points: Stunning and spacious new apartment blocks, only JUST built so everything was slick and new. Brand new fittings and appliances (induction stove, huge fridge, big cupboards, etc). Staff made up the bed as a double for us (just ask and they’ll make up 2 singles into a king bed) which was firm but comfy. The pool was phenomenal - must have been 25-30m long so I was able to do laps every morning! Communal rooftop, perfect for sunset drinks. Keypad entry everywhere so no need for keys. Good location with supermarkets nearby but far enough away from the horrendous Geordie shore-esque tourism hussle and bussle of Ayia Napa centre. Both pool and bath towels provided. Washer / dryer was fantastic and brand new. Wifi worked well. Big TV with Netflix app (but no free to air channels). Huge comfy couch. Staff respond to WhatsApp messaging immediately and even have a 24 hour attendant who helped us out more than once. Bad points: Security seemed a little lax; the front gate didn’t shut properly and the keycodes into rooms were very easy to guess and we weren’t given the option to change our code. Rooms are only cleaned once every 4 days and consumables are not provided apart from toilet paper. So, you’ll have to buy your own hand soap, dishwashing detergent, body wash, sponges, laundry powder, etc. Kitchen was lacking essentials - there was no chopping board / cutting knives / tea towel...

We spent a fabulous few days at Napa Gem Suites by Luxel Villas and really enjoyed our stay overall. The apartment was very well equipped, with everything you could need for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. The bed was huge and super comfortable, and our private terrace was a lovely spot to unwind.

The real highlight, though, was the large swimming pool in the common area. It was rarely busy, so it felt almost like our own private pool. That was indeed the true gem!

That said, we noticed some dirty walls and curtains, as well as very old towels among other minor details which took away a bit from the "luxury" experience. We also had an issue with the door code, which at one point wouldn't lock properly. Fortunately, a staff member was around, but she was unhelpful and surprisingly rude, responding with a defensive attitude even though we were visibly stressed by the fact we couldn't leave the apartment with our belongings inside. While the issue was eventually resolved, we received no apology or compensation.

Despite this, we would still consider returning, not because of the service, but because the apartment itself was excellent: modern, spacious, and very comfortable. This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed in! I don't have anything to fault it. The whole place is a brand new build I think its only maybe a year old, so all appliances and furniture and everything is BRAND NEW! Walk-in shower, super king/queen beds, private sun beds if you get the bigger apartments. But even if you go for the smaller ones you have a cute small patio table and sofa to lounge on. The sofa inside the apartment is so comfy and I'm sure opens to a sofa bed. The gentleman that dealt with us Demitri was amazing! he was so helpful and kind and when we needed and extra set of towels was very considerate and quick, and also explained the best places to go and eat etc! They have a WhatsApp they keep on for emergencies with quick replies. We went in the beginning of March so it was very very very quiet maybe could have been because of corona but it was definitely out of season and not the party scene if you're looking for that! Some restaurants are open and its very serene and peaceful this time, perfect for a lazy holiday!
