STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!
Please take a few minutes to read my honest review!
Before i begin, Blue lagoon kosher hotel is a holiday tour package and not the name of a hotel. They rent a certain ammount of rooms and kitchen and dining space from the hotel which is called Capital Coast Hotel.
Also, there is nobody to speak to from the Kahane Group at all and all the hotel staff are very rude and aggressive to us.
From the minute we checked in our experience has been terrible.
Our room was not ready on time. We were made to wait on the couch, couldn't even offer us a drink of water....had to lift all of my bags and suitcases upstairs to my room alone.
When we arrived, the floor was soaking wet and smelt disgusting. The room was dirty all over and was not pleasent at all. The air con didn't work.....i tried to call reception....but no our phone doesn't work either....i had to go downstairs to beg for a room change which they eventually agreed to.
So our new room: I am writing this review lying on a bed that feels like a wooden mattress. The aircon works slightly better here....but feels more like a fan than a air con. The linen and towels don't smell or look particularly clean.. And what's now...i am stuck here for the next 2 nights! Feels more like a prison or hospital than a hotel...
Post Shabbos: The food is quite good compared to the rest of our experience but the waiters and restaurant staff are very rude. The crockery is dirty and hygiene isn't really prime here.
The hotel lobby is full of fights between guests and the hotel staff - i have a headache just from sitting in the lobby.
The swimming pool isn't completely separate swimming times....there is only a sign advising the guests to respect this but most dont.
This hotel is NOT suitable for Frum Families. The shul and dining hall are in the boiling hot basement area, it also is very humid and damp and not well looked after. The air con in the shul and the eating hall is mostly turned off....the owners are trying to cut expenses and save money as much as possible...
Throughout the shabbat meal there is people on there phones and shouting...this is not a frum hotel. The food is relatively good...very Israeli style but quite tasty. Waiters and staff are very aggressive and rude.
I asked for another towel, we were told they don't give extra towels or you can borrow 1 but we need it back as soon as your out the shower.
The room doors are all left open over shabbat as they don't give shabbat keys. This is unsafe and inconvenient.
There is no beach, its a plot of grass with sunbeds next to a lot of large rocks over looking the sea.
To be honest, i don't see this place lasting much longer as they are only interested in money and don't look to provide anyone with any kind of service.
I depart this hotel with a terrible back ache and pain from the bed, a bad headache from all the shouting from the other unhappy guests.
Overall...a 1 star rating is exaggeration...
Yours Sincerely, A highly...

Rather, "Blue Lagoon" is a service established within a non-kosher hotel called Capital Coast Resort & Spa. The kosher meals are served in a dedicated dining room, and there is a nearby coffee/tea corner and shul/synagogue (these are all on the basement level). The kitchenettes and utensils in the rooms themselves are not kosher, and all other hotel services (pool, spa, beach, etc.) are shared with the rest of the hotel.
The kosher food itself was very good and plentiful, with plenty of variety (we were there for four weekdays and had breakfast and dinner there daily). We were able to make sandwiches (and take vegetables for snacks) each day at breakfast to take with us on our daytrips (tip: bring containers or baggies if you want to do this, none are provided). We did not go hungry during our trip.
We were fortunate to have a large suite, which included a full-sized kitchen, full-sized heavy-wood dining room table, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The best part was the porch that faced the sea -- as our corner suite was at the very end of the hallway, we were situated very near to the sea, with perfect views of the sunset and no noise from the pool area (which was out of sight, around the corner). Try to get this suite (#120-1) if you can.
The hotel’s beach is not exactly at the hotel – you have to walk a few minutes down the coast on an unfinished rocky dirt path to the beach area, which is also used by the neighboring hotel. We didn’t use the hotel’s pools, but we did use the spa’s jacuzzi and sauna, which were both fine.
The downsides were that the building itself and rooms are not in great shape. Google shows this as a 4-star hotel, I would put it at 3 stars. Loose/missing fixtures, peeling paint, stuck window locks, burned-out lightbulbs, and a very dark shower are some details I can mention specifically. As a family-oriented kosher service there were lots of families with children, along with lots of noise/screaming (80% of the guests when we were there are Israeli).
The hotel service was relatively okay, but be prepared for the relatively rude Cyprus treatment everywhere you go in the country. The kashrut mashgiach, Levi, was a pleasant and friendly young Israeli man who was helpful during our couple of interactions with him.
The bottom line: If you want two solid kosher meals per day and don’t mind spending your vacation in a 3-star hotel full of loud kids, then the Blue Lagoon is a...
